You have two options when you come to downtown Alton near the church pool. Right away you see the Outfitters shop, with the big open signs and flags and looking very welcoming. This is a good shop, for sure. But if you stand with your back against the building and look across the street, on the corner you’ll see Malinda‘s fly shop.

If you’re a traditional or Fly fisherman or Spey Caster, this is the place to go. The shop is well equipped for everything you need for fly. From tying flies to flies tried and true for the area. She is well equipped to provide you whats needed. Waders, boots, rods, it’s all here.

They carry used brands and Hardy rods and reels. so if you’re looking for a Orvis equipment this is not the place .

Malinda is a very experienced Spey caster. You can arrange lessons here or just get some good advice. Always friendly and always eager to improve.

I visited Malinda's shop this past Saturday. I had spoken with her earlier in the week about getting set up with a switch rod, reel, and line to fish for steelhead in the Salmon River. Malinda mentioned she was running low on lines but promised to keep one "out back" for me. Sure enough she did this as promised and put together everything I needed to walk out the door and across the street to start fishing. Malinda even took the time on a busy Saturday afternoon to give me a short lesson on casting my new set up. I am very grateful for Malinda's help and time!
