Been twice now. First with my son who wanted to return with his friend. Ryan has created a small community in Jeffersonville through a labor of love which one can only do around here if you can find a way to genuinely serve the multiple diverse needs of locals, vacationers and others in Sullivan county. I've seen so many businesses come and go here in the 12 years my family has lived in North Branch and the ones that survive have genuine honest hardworking caring and open-minded people at the helm and The Catskills Outdoorsman has Ryan and his son and most importantly their friendly black lab and greeter, Holly who takes any nerves away that inexperienced country-sportsman- wanna-bes like me and my son might have initially had walking into any store with hunting as a major theme (we just don't want to kill anything. I can't even take fish out of our pond). Ryan's created something for everyone here and despite differences in the diverse groups of people that congregate in the Catskills, these kinds of businesses are why we keep comming back to this area because they offer something so much more than just a place to buy equipment which we also did of course after taking lessons and using the archery range. They offer a sense of community and connection which I think we actually often forget we all need. By the way, we're pack animals and we've survived through hunting for thousands of years so while I can't kill most living creatures myself I understand and relate to the draw of hunting and mastering a skill like archery through target practice.
