We recently rented this facility to host our son's 4th birthday party. We opted for the after hours package so that we had the entire play space privately for two hours. I'll be honest that we had never been there before and rented it relying only on the reviews we had read and heard about from friends who have played there before. It was also a large enough facility to comfortably host all 75 of our guests so it was a win.
I can not express how happy and pleased we were with the outcome of our party. The kids had a BLAST and the parents left happy as well. After the party our phone's were blowing up with what a great time everyone had. Even our two teenage daughters got in on the fun and couldn't resist playing.
We had two hosts that night (Gianna and Becka) who were delightful to work with, often asking if there was anything they could help with from start to finish.
With 75 guests we opted to have six large pizzas (that were tasty) and the facility also allowed me to bring in our own appetizers and sides to go with the pizza which I loved because our family and friends are foodies.
The only suggestion I would have is to have a gap in time from when the facility closes to the public and when the private party starts. The way we had our party the facility closed at 5:00pm to the public and our party was from 5:00pm-7:00pm. I am a perfectionist and this caused me some anxiety as I had to wait for tables to open in the main area and for the public to leave so that I could set up for our party. If I did this again I would pay the $100 extra to rent the facility for an extra hour 5:00pm-8:00pm and use the hour from 5:00-6:00pm to setup. Luckily with the staff's help (Gianna and Becka) as well as my parents whom I brought along to help setup we were able to quickly rearrange tables and get all our decorations, food and supplies out before our guests started to arrive.
If you are looking to throw your little one a party everyone will be happy with I highly recommend this place.
Thank you for a very memorable 4th birthday experience Ontario...
Read moreWe had my daughters 4th birthday party here this past weekend. When I booked the party online, it said that we would have someone in the room helping the party move along but also a craft as well. There was one woman running the front as well as helping with parties. The kids never got to do a craft. Our pizzas were late and we didn't get them until 2pm. So we had to rush to do pizza, cake and presents before we would be kicked out of the party room for the next party (we were told over the phone at 2:45pm they would need us to start cleaning up). The place had much to do for the kids, but it was very dirty. They cleaned off the tables after use, but that was the extent of the cleaning they do there based on the way the activity areas, bathrooms, party room and equipment appeared. The party included 2 pizzas and a cookie cake. Neither tasted great. I paid for extra waters as well. As the kids were playing (we were still occupying the room, but everyone was out playing and talking), I watched the manager go into our party room and come out with her arms full of the leftover waters and juice boxes THAT I PAID FOR, and proceeded to restock them back into their cooler in the Cafe. I would assume that reuse of these is against health code. She looked shocked when I approached her and asked for the waters and juice boxes back that she stole. The whole party ended up costing around $350 with the extra waters and pizza...btw, they charge $1 per extra water for those dinky water bottles. They aren't even full size. Honestly, there are so many other options around that would be so much more worth the money. All things considered, I wouldn't reccomend this place...
Read moreOntario Play & Cafe is the most amazing place to take your child to run and play. The facility is 14,000 square feet of space. It is clean, beautiful, and has very safe climbing and playing equipment. There are large very unique playground types of equipment, and scientifically inclined and exploratory stains as well. There is a very large water table area with raincoats for water play and exploration. Fun for all ages (even adults). There is a sand/ stone table with all types of construction play vehicles such as dump trucks, excavators etc where kids can play and reenact the jobs of these types of vehicles. You are able to pack your own lunches , snacks and drinks in or you can purchase items from the snack bar for extremely reasonable prices. A large bowl of Mac and cheese ( homemade with white mild cheddar sauce) is enough for two people! Drinks are $1.00 or $1.50 which is unheard of any more. The entrance fee for a child up till age 12 is $15 for the day Anyone 13 or over goes in for free! There are plenty of booths for adults to hang in while monitoring their child or to take a break. You should always move with your child so they are in your eye sight and enjoy watching them having so much fun. They may need your assistance so don't be distracted in your phone. My granddaughter played for 4.5 hours. She absolutely loved it! She made friends, problem solved, grew in social skills and physical endurance. It was the greatest rainy activity you could ever take your child to. Kudos to the owners and workers of Ontario Play and Cafe. This is such a special and...
