I wish I could give this place zero stars. I'll start with the good since that's a shorter list.
Greens are in decent shape, except for the 3-4 that have large dirt patches. They have a hole on every green, so at least they got that correct. The tee boxes exist. There's a solid chance they don't have any rhyme or reason to how they set them though (most holes it looks like they've left the whites in the same location for 2 months without fixing divots. The starter was nice.
Now the bad, I'll probably leave a few off since I'll get tired of typing.
Fairways. You usually can't tell the difference between the fairways and the rough. They're pretty much the same length on most holes. Most consist of a majority of dirt and/or rocks and/or huge holes and/or a lot more rocks. Seriously, their fairways look like a city road and that's being nice. I had a 80 yard shot on hole 6 or 7 and couldn't swing through a ball because there was a giant rock under the thin layer of dirt and grass on top. Almost broke my club. The rough. Not saying this should be freshly manicured but please for god sake, try to mow it once a once maybe. The party music. I'm golfing, I should not have to listen to loud music with bass on 6 of the tee boxes. There's gotta be some type of barrier you can put up to mute the sound from the pool...just a bit. The driving range. We arrived early morning for an early tee time with the intentions of warming up. We walked into the range and couldn't believe how run down it was. Well, at least until we played the course and then we realized the driving range was in tip top shape by comparison. Buying food at the turn. We ordered before teeing off on 9 thinking we could grab and go. It wasn't ready by the time we got to the clubhouse. The woman working the cash register had to be told 5 times what we ordered before ringing it up correctly. We were in the clubhouse for at least 10 minutes. Oh, forgot to mention, we ordered 4 hot dogs, 3 beers, and a snickers bar. The cart paths. A quarter had giant cracks, another quarter had huge holes, another quarter looked like a highway that hadn't been paved in 2 decades, and the last quarter was nonexistent.
I'm going to cut this one short, but there's plenty more i couldn't talk about. This course was not worth the 50 or so we paid with cart. It's not worth 40, 30, 20, or even 10. You'd have to pay me to play here again. A...
Read moreFor the price it's not a bad course with an interesting par 3. The traps were only clay, no sand and it looked like someone was doing donuts in the trap. The lady behind the counter and the starter was nice. Having said that the cart rental guy is miserable, kept saying over and over how I had to drive the cart not my 17 year old son. kept going on about insurance, I got it after the fourth time while I was thinking to myself you are not doing me any favors as I am helping to keep you employed. As the previous reviews said the brakes suck . I kept locking them up and had some serious gas fumes. Lastly I guess the staff wanted to go home early . We couldn't finish the round and had about 40 minutes of daylight left..
Follow up. I played for the second time this past week. The traps had real nice sand. The personnel were much more pleasant. $20 for 18 after 2pm on the weekdays can't be beat. The only complaint I have is the rangers need to lurk from a far, not hang out right next to the tee box. Go harass the peeps not playing ready golf when it's crowded and taking 120 seconds to drain a 1 ft put. ...
Read moreThe course is kept well, however the bunkers have dirt, and I was told they were suppose to fill with sand later on. Course layout is challenging and sometimes confusing. Price for the carts went up two dollars to a total of 40 dollars. Specials have to be paid 10 minutes before the tee time, you cannot pay earlier or else you pay 5 dollars or more extra. Range during greens play was closed off when we were there. It's not a bad place, beautiful view and I respect the staff. Since it's state owned there are administrative things that will be learned at the time you get there as you can read for my review. If you enjoy the game of golf then come out and enjoy this place for the love...
