What an interesting place to visit! If you are ever in the Buffalo area you need to check this out. While it has a nice gift and boutique shop out front with nice items at a good value, my brother and I came to see the original place where kazoos as we know them today were born (and continue to be made) - it is a unique working museum. My brother is a retired musician and I am a retired businessman who has played guitar for over 60 years and we were excited to find this place on our way to do some family business. First opened as a metal workshop in 1907, it began making the metal kazoos that we know today in 1916. While the employees were not there on Saturday, you can visit select days to see them stamping and assembling in action. Miss Lois who was running the boutique was so kind to show us around and give us a tour of the shop and the history. The kazoos are made on the original equipment and they have the standard ones everyone knows for sale plus some special unique collectible types that are both functional and fun. I got two for my grandchildren and already have one back home. I love music and love machines - great place to spend...

My original motive was to stop and buy a bunch of kazoos for all of the children to enjoy during our latest family get together. While this was a successful endeavor, I was pleasantly surprised at the boutique located in the front of the building and the kazoo shop and museum located in the rear.
We found many different types of novelty kazoos in addition to several color choices of standard kazoos. The factory still uses the antique hand operated machines during the 17 step production process. You can watch the workers do their part of the process while learning about the history of the factory and the kazoo in general. There is also a small machine that will allow you to make your own metal kazoo if you spend a few dollars to purchase the kit.
A nice little gem that is worth checking out if you are into quirky little pieces of American...
Read moreWe travel full time and do our best to find all the quirky and less visited interesting things across America and we definitely found it in Eden! The Kazoo factory, in the back of the boutique, is a priceless bit of history that is still making history! Using the same machines from 1915, they are stamping out metal Kazoos for American children still to this day! The factory is a museum in itself but they also have numerous display cases of the historical Kazoos they have produced over the years, each with it's own story. Our hostess was the kindest lady in New York! She showed us around the factory, fully demonstrated the process and knew all there could ever be known about Kazoos! The boutique at the entrance is beautiful with a little bit for everyone! I got the cutest skirt ever!! We visited the museum, made our own Kazoo and shopped the boutique in...
