It genuinely pains me to write anything less than a stellar review especially since I usually go out of my way to write good reviews instead of bad ones. But I feel like this might be a learning opportunity for staff to work on customer service. The hospitality background in me always notices things like customer service.
I will start off by saying that this is solely a review based on the greenhouse part. I am a stay at home mom currently so my children come everywhere with me. I had my 3 year old son and two month with me .. less than ideal when plant shopping but it is what it is. Anyways, I had the stroller and it was near impossible for me to push a stroller and a cart for plants so was hoping for help. I tracked down a younger blonde girl who was working the check out who seemed like she didnāt want to be there as she just pointed to a gentleman next to her who could help me .
The gentleman was helpful answering my questions, but that was it. He didnāt go out of his way to assist me even though I told him I am eager to fill my house with plants. I told him exactly what I wanted and asked for help loading. As I went to find pots, I thought he was loading them up only to find out he disappeared and none of my plants were being loaded.
I went back to the younger blonde girl to ask if she knew if my plants were being loaded by someone or if she knew where the gentleman went and she looked very confused and like she didnāt want to be there. In fact, it seemed like me being overwhelmed was amusing to her as she was smirking the entire time. I really truly felt as if I was a burden to these workers and it made me uncomfortable. I genuinely wanted to talk to someone who was excited and informative to talk about plants but everyone just seemed like they didnāt want to be there.
Finally a saving grace, a gentleman named Drew who said he could help me. He didnāt know a lot about plants when I asked but he was at least willing to find out answers to questions I had. He also helped me load up the plants.
I was really hoping i would have more help and could have even learned a little bit about house plants . I spent over 300$ and not that it should matter how much youāre spending in this competitive market, customer service should always be important. But I would have probably even bought more if someone was willing to just give me the time of day without me having to hunt people down and feel like I was burdening them.
I believe in second chances so I will likely give it another shot like I usually do. But I donāt think my expectations are that high expecting the bare minimum as a paying customer. This is a competitive market and I am sure there are plenty other greenhouses that would be willing to help me. Also, I know this is a newer establishment (maybe a year) so maybe the company may still trying to find their footing with a good staff. But please, make it a priority to work on customer service. The 3 clucks from the morning chicken woke me up as per usual. I decided to go to the store today. That's when things took a dark and twisted turn.( like one of those twisted enclosed slides at the park but not as fun. Although some of those slides give you a real brush burn when sliding down so i guess depending on the slide, it could theoretically be better sliding down the slide. Or did I mean technically. So I entered the store and was immediately taken back in shock (not in an electrical way though) and awe. This place was like the lost city of Atlantis. Golds and riches scattered across the store. It was a dream come true, that is until...tragedy struck me. I don't know how but I have somehow managed to cut myself on my finger. I could see the light and hear the choir of angels singing. This was surely the beginning of the end... or so I had thought. If for not the quick thinking and actions of two of the cashiers. no one would be reading any of this today. With no regard for their own life the quickly sprung into action. The presence of mind to stay calm and focused during such a serious event truly is remarkable. Under weekly specials it said" here are a few deals for you" an then it was blank. I checked on Sunday and Monday and Tuesday. On Wednesday I called the Elma location. The menu of departments did not include manager. A clerk answered and said she knew nothing and gave the call to someone else who said ads are published on Friday and seemed not to care or understand that even last Fridays ad was not on the website. She kept repeating we have nothing to do with that.Her parting comment was"if I see a manager I'll mention it."
