To label Good Taste Epicurean merely a “cheese shop” is like calling the Sistine Chapel a painted ceiling—it’s a gross understatement that misses the soul of the place. Nestled in the heart of its community, this gem transcends its shelves of artisanal treasures, offering an experience that’s as rich in human connection as it is in flavor. Led by the inimitable Mark Handelman, Good Taste Epicurean is a sanctuary of taste, stories, and camaraderie that leaves every visitor richer for it.
Let’s start with the cheese—oh, the cheese! Good Taste Epicurean curates a selection so exquisite it’ll ruin you for the plastic-wrapped blocks of the supermarket aisle. From the sharp, crystalline crunch of their delectable aged cheddar that melts into a buttery revelation on your tongue, to the downright otherworldly Meredith Dairy marinated sheep and goat cheese—a tangy, creamy marvel that’s nothing short of a flavor epiphany—these are cheeses that demand reverence. But the offerings don’t stop there. Home cooks and culinary adventurers will find a trove of rare ingredients, from specialty oils to exotic spices, that simply don’t exist elsewhere in the area. It’s a playground for the palate, a place where every item feels like a discovery.
Yet, as extraordinary as the inventory is, the true magic of Good Taste Epicurean lies in its founder, Mark Handelman. Mark is no ordinary shopkeeper; he’s a global ambassador of goodwill, a man who spent decades introducing countless souls to the spirit of America. His career of service has woven a tapestry of friendships across the world, and he brings that warmth and openness to every interaction. Step into Good Taste, and you’re not just a customer—you’re a guest in Mark’s extended family. His stories, shared over a complimentary cup of coffee, are the kind that make you lean in closer, laugh louder, and linger longer. Whether he’s recounting a far-flung adventure or offering a sage nugget of wisdom, Mark has a gift for making everyone feel seen, heard, and valued.
This is where Good Taste Epicurean becomes more than a store—it’s a community hearth. Picture an old-school barbershop, where locals gather not just for a trim but for connection, laughter, and the kind of free therapy that only comes from swapping stories with neighbors. That’s Good Taste. It’s the place where you pop in for a wedge of cheese and leave with a smile, a new friend, or a heartwarming tale. Regulars swap news, visitors become regulars, and everyone leaves a little lighter. In a world that often feels rushed and disconnected, Mark has created a haven where time slows down, and people matter.
Don’t leave without trying the aforementioned cheddar with its addictive crystal bursts or the Meredith Dairy marinated cheese that’s so insanely good it deserves its own fan club. But more than that, don’t leave without soaking in the atmosphere. Good Taste Epicurean isn’t just a shop—it’s a celebration of flavor, friendship, and the art of living well. Mark Handelman has built something truly epic, and one visit will make...
