So, I came from out of town to visit family and was definitely excited to have a Wegmans old-fashioned sub. We arrived at the Latta Long Pond rd store at 840pm Saturday night and upon arrival found sub shop employees had already put all items away onto a roll cart. The sub area doesn't close till 9pm. We ordered 3 lg sandwiches, and the employees first used their fingers to spread the mayo onto our sandwiches, wiped their fingers with a paper towel, and proceeded. Then, they added other items and did not weigh anything, just putting meat here and there just as they did with the cheese. When they went to put tomatoes on the sandwiches, they looked absolutely gross. They were definitely in a hurry. When the tomatoes were put onto our sandwiches, another employee took the bin of tomatoes and threw the rest out.....then proceeded to wipe the bin out with a paper towel and place bin back in cooler. Never cleaned it, etc. The employees did not want to dirty anything as they were already cleaned up and were not concerned with Wegmans' quality and safety in mind. Now, I walked around the store to pick a couple more things up and cashed out. As we were walking out into vestibule, a mouse was under our feet, and the cart crushed it. Absolutely disgusting. Mice inside and visible at Wegmans, yeah, lost our appetite. We went to move aside and put stuff into the car when 2 employees came out and took pictures and were laughing about the mouse incident. Obviously, someone before us had told someone inside because they came out like right after we crushed it, and we didn't even have a chance to tell anyone. Employees sneaking to take pictures with his phone on his side by his pockets. What will they do with those photos? This is something Wegmans definitely would not want on social media posts, pictures of a crushed mouse... The next morning, we went back into the store to talk with a manager about the issues, and when we mentioned the mayonnaise fingers thing, they all looked at each other like they knew of the issue. Refunded my money, and we left. I've lived in Rochester for over 40yrs, remember them building this location. Wegmans has always prided themselves on quality, customers, and cleanliness, but they definitely have an issue at this location and have failed in the area of all today. If you feel something is not right, go to the manager, and let's hope they make...
Read moreI'm personally going to say I love wegmans and am offended by the review and comments I will share. I participate on wegmans insiders and have been raised with wegmans. It's a fantastic store and anyone not from this area should see the level of quality and simply the shopping experience. But tonight I was offended at the cleanliness of the bathroom that I experienced. I've been to plenty of their stores, so by no means is this a reflection on all stores, just long pond/latta. The front end manager supervisor happened to come into the bathroom at the same time, and I was frightened at the conditions of the personal stalls. I made a quick and assertive comment about the conditions. This is not expected from the high caliber, top notch wegmans I'm used to. When I left I approached the employee and reiterated my concern. The employee was respectful by all means, but I never felt a sense of my dissatisfaction with my concern. I'm not an individual who needs to be passified with "thanks for your comments ", which is what I received. I'm an individual who is more concerned about the lack of respect that individuals have for a company that has set the bar on standards. I realize this may be an isolated incidence, but after 41 years going to wegmans, I was extremely disappointed. To all the young workers out there, please take pride in your job and the work that you do. To all people out there, wegmans is by far the best place to go for shopping and...
Read moreI recently placed an order for pickup at Wegmans, scheduled to be ready at 11:40 AM. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I was unable to pick up my order until around 2:45 PM. Given the time lapse, I expected my order to be properly prepared and ready for a smooth handoff.
Unfortunately, upon arrival, I was handed my order in an unprepared state, which was disappointing. After paying for my items, I was followed through the store, and as I was leaving, I was approached and asked to return the receipt. This made me feel uncomfortable and as though I was being treated with unnecessary scrutiny.
Upon reaching my car, I discovered that my order was incomplete—the lettuce and tomato I had ordered were missing. This oversight, combined with the fact that I had paid $58 for just three subs on a tray, felt excessive. While I understand that prepared foods come at a premium, I expected a higher level of service, especially considering my current physical limitations that prevent me from cooking my own meals.
I hope that Wegmans can improve its order fulfillment process to ensure accuracy and provide a more positive customer experience—one that fosters trust rather than making customers feel uncomfortable or undervalued. Given Wegmans’ reputation for quality and service, I was expecting a much smoother experience. I sincerely hope to see improvements...
