My car ended up needing an alternator, and it I got it replaced here. As soon as I started my car after the work was done, it squealed horribly. The serpentine belt was not reset properly. The squealing had been obvious pretty much every time I started my car. I do not know how this could've been missed. I assume they would have to start the car to make sure it works after replacing the alternator.
