Cathy Nails Beauty Spa — Local services in Town of Hempstead

So disappointed with Cathy’s. After patronizing her business for 20 years, I am finally done. The quality is absolutely sub-par but I continued to come for convenience. I left for maybe 3 years and when I returned a few months ago, Cathy and the staff were nice as ever but there was something wrong each time I went. Today, the polish I chose and paid extra for was empty, instead of telling me they continued to use it on my nails which are very spotty. Towards the end I told them it was way too thin and I could see through to the nail and Cathy replied “well choose another color to go on top”. I politely told her that the better option would have been for them to not use it at all if there wasn’t enough to finish the job. She then said “choose another color or just take the whole thing off” very nasty! Everything is fine until it isn’t. I sucked it up but mentioned to my sister I wasn’t coming back and Cathy began apologizing endlessly. This is the 3rd time now that I’ve gone and they haven’t given my sister a massage that comes with her service. Today, they said they forgot so as we were leaving (I paid about $200 for both my service and my sisters) Cathy tells my sister she didn’t tip them. So she goes “I guess you forgot since your sister paid.” And my sister replies “yes like you forgot my massage” and gives a tip anyhow. I guess her tip wasn’t enough for Cathy and she decided to suck her teeth instead of saying “Thank You”. My nails are spotty and I sucked it up but she couldn’t suck up not getting a generous enough tip in her opinion. I told her as I was leaving we would not be returning and she said “oh well thank you. goodnight I have other customers”. I really hope you learn a lesson in humility and customer service Cathy. It may not matter because you have other customers but kindness goes further than money every will....

Really wanted to have my nails done as one broke. Cathy , is pretty polite, cant say that for the other workers there. Cathy attended to me, I'm not very please with the service, since I got home I have noticed that the polish have bubbles, this is so poor compounding all that, before my nails were polished I was told to pay 25 dollars, however I was thinking that it was being considerate as not to smudge my nails. However I have noticed that everyone else pays after. After I figure my nails were dry and I'm about to leave, I was approached by Cathy asking if I'm not leaving a tip, my question was how much? She said whatever I wanted to leave. When I checked my purse I had a 1 dollar note so I gave it to her. Being home now this thought struck , why was I asked to pay b4 the job was done? Is it that she thought I would not pay? If the consideration was for the smudging of my nails why then approach me for a tip. If I was given the opportunity to pay for the job after the job was completed I would have been better able to offer a tip. Tip is for a job well done. I feel as if because it was the first time I was using that Salon hence I was treated in this manner. I was thinking I found a place to go my nails when in Rosedale but will have to keep looking. All they think about is to be tipped. Want to be to be tipped, do your best job to please clients, not only tips but returns...

I was referred by one of your long time customers. The first time i came here I was very happy with the service I received from Annie!!!! She was pleasant and helpful I had a fill in and a spa pedicure with some extras and my eyebrows. I ended up spending 80 dollars and tipped 10 between 2 people. My second time coming back 10-7-2015 the man in the 2nd chair was incredibly rude because i didnt have cash so i payed with my Visa (there is an atm next door and i have several cards) if the man would have never said anything i would have come back after done with a tip instead he complained about the 2 dollars i put to make my card charge an even 50 dollars and told me to not come back. THIS IS HOW YOU TREAT CUSTOMERS IN YOUR AREA? I have been getting my nails done for 14 years and I have never been insulted by anyone. The guy in the first chair then says 2 dollar tip no good Im upset because my intent was killed by the horrible remarks of these 2 incredibly rude men. I will NEVER come back to your business and I live 2 blocks away i was referred to you by a couple who comes to you often and I know 3 other people who visit your place after my referral.
