I should give it 1 star but I'm sure there is a reason for what the fair was this year. As an avid fair enthusiast, it has been quite a few years since I have attended the fair. I was blown away at how little there was to do and see and how spaced out it was. Quite honestly it was sad. A far cry from what it used to be. Prices were fine, fairs are expensive, it is what it is. 3-5 games only? 10-12 food vendors? The rides were that a small fireman's carnival. Animal exhibits we're lacking as well. Furthermore I showed up at 2pm on Friday, paid the $10 parking fee to spend 15 minutes to walk around and grab a bite to eat. It wasn't until I was in the grounds that I was informed the fair didn't open until 4pm! Everything was closed except for the farm barns and a couple of food vendors. I really hope this was an off year and that a bigger and better fair returns in the future. Now I am curious to see what Steuben county fair looks...
Read moreThe location is within the residential area with poorly placed directional signs thus causing confusion as you try to locate parking entrances that are on the grounds. As such, traffic can sometimes become hectic as you join the flow of cars from the side of the entrances, which are along the main drag making navigation somewhat chaotic during peak hours, even during evening traffic hours while events are in operation.
