Big Top Ice Cream — Restaurant in Town of Horseheads

I have the best memories of going here with my Nana and Papa Weaver when my sister Tara and I were little. I would get my bubblegum ice cream and I would set up a little area where I would sell my homemade cards that I made and other arts and crafts that my Nana and I made together. It was so nice and I had the best time. I loved walking to the ice cream shop from their house on Perkins Ave. I will remember those things for the rest of my life. I no longer have my grandparents, but the memories are with me as if it was yesterday and one day I'm going to make it back up there with my husband and our three sons and take them there. Always one of my favorite places! If anyone remembers Jeanne and Dick Weaver, I'm sure you'd remember her and I sitting up there with our ice cream cones and homemade gifts! The sign said "Cards by Ryan!" I think it was so nice that the owners would let me do that. I think I sold them for .25 or gave most away, but it was so much fun!!! Small portion sizes. Marginal difference in size between medium and large cone size when compared to other ice cream stands nearby. The large sundae isn't really large when you consider how short the ice cream is inside the container and then covered up with whipped cream giving the illusion that it's large. Negative signage posted by the ordering counter. IMO, Ice Cream should be fun, friendly, and easy going- it's ice cream! The taste is good, just want more portions and from someone who values their customers better. The folks who originally operated it many years ago had all of those...

I have no idea where the first picture is from... not this location. Some great flavors of soft serve if you catch the right weeks. Make Walnut is their best buy hardly offered this year. I question some of the combinations some weeks.... like lime and lemon the same week... sometimes there isn't a flavor I'll even try...

This location has been a staple to the area and I try to keep going here, but hear from others another area ice cream shop has larger cones for cheaper... still I want this location to...
