Great, quick hike with amazing views. There’s not that many trail markers so I did get lost a couple times but it’s pretty easy to put yourself back on the path. There were 2 steep inclines. After the first incline you’ll hit Artists Rock. Beautiful view of the valley and very picturesque. After the second incline you’ll hit Sunset rock. Make sure you follow the trail all the way to the end until you have a view of the lake. Very beautiful especially in the Fall with the leaves changing color. The whole trail there and back took me less than 2 hours including photos and water breaks.
The trail continues on to North Point however I cut it short and went back down.
There are two parking areas. One near Laurel House which is the same parking lot for Kaaterskill Falls. This is free but is slightly longer than the second parking lot. The second parking lot is the North Lake parking lot and I believe you have to pay $10. Luckily I had camped at the campground the night before so I was able to park at North Lake without paying an additional $10.
Overall, highly recommend this hike because of the beautiful views and the shortness...
