I really had an amazing, heartwarming experience at G FIX today!! I first entered the store in a panic because my phone had just died after having gotten lost on my way to an Uber that I was taking from the Huntington LIRR Station- basically the driver came in another way and I couldn’t find him for the life of me.
I ran to where I thought the driver was and then realized that he was a 12 minute walk away. This was after my first attempt to get him to meet me in the spot I was in. But then my phone had died. I’ve been living in the area for under a week, so I was petrified. It was dark and completely eery out.
So, in my intense panic state, I had no choice other than to find a nearby place to charge my phone to find where the hell I was and how to contact the driver. So, I saw G FIX, where I hastily shuffled in and asked the owner if I could please charge my phone. Then, I asked to use the store phone to call my dad while I waited, which he was more than happy to let me use. Because of his generosity, I then forced him to let me give him a tip.
He had been about to close up after already having had to stay much later than the closing time today, but he waited with me until my phone charged back up and ALSO 20 more minutes for my dad to come get me. He put on some pretty top-notch Raggaeton (Daddy Yankee,) so I confirmed that he spoke Spanish, and then he was nice enough to chat with me in Spanish even though I have only been learning Spanish for a year and have a lot to learn.
He was so incredibly patient, friendly, and funny, and then he actually gave me an awesome screen protector, which he positioned and set perfectly. The owner was very knowledgeable, but even more importantly—in my opinion—is that he really wants to help and that he cares!!
I will 100000% go to G FIX as the absolute first stop for any technical/hardware/accessorial needs that pop up when it comes to my phone!!
