Better than 5 stars! Reminds me of the deli sandwiches of Bensonhurst Brooklyn. The names of the sandwiches reflect that area of Brooklyn and I haven't had one since I moved out of there in the late 90s. Well not anymore! This place will definitely be on my places to regularly visit. The sandwiches may seem a bit on the expensive side at first glance but do not be deterred. They are worth every penny and then some. The ingredients are top notch and the bread, the bread alone is worth the trip to visit the shop. I haven't had bread like this in a very long time. A often forgotten piece of the sandwich puzzle but great bread will make a great sandwich even better. We had the capo and 18th ave today and I am definitely craving the godmother and rocco for the next visit. I finished the entire sandwich and didn't feel bloated, just a happy full. No acid reflux, no gassy burps, just a calm and happy satiated stomach. I am not a big coffee drinker (figure a random one once a month) but the dyker heights and cinque have changed my mind. I can drink these two everyday. I can't find anything displeasing about Mercato Cucina. The parking can be a little scarce (although there is a resident permit parking lot across the street which is almost always empty.) Buy any one of their sandwiches which spikes your interest, drink a coffee while the sandwich is being made, take home said sandwich and enjoy with an adult beverage of your choice then live happily ever after!

The first time I visited Mercato my expectations were admittedly pretty low. I was hangry and stopped in because it was convenient, ignoring the fact that the last place open in this spot served week old bagels. I brought home ā€œThe Capoā€ and my first impression was that it was enough for 2 meals… it was so good that it wound up being 2 bites. I’ve visited at least another dozen times since and each time I’m just as impressed as the first. The sandwiches are generous in size and made with truly top shelf ingredients. I’ve lived in Huntington my whole life and can guarantee no one is putting out a product like this. My girlfriend and I both recently attended a cheese making class hosted by Chef David. He taught the basic principles of fresh cheese and how to incorporate them into home cooked dishes. We’ve both been cooking since we were kids yet learned so much from Chef David at class. The Chef, and his better half Deb, are truly committed to their shop and making it feel like home for their customers - just don’t ask him for whole wheat bread, subways down the road. I’m so thankful to have Mercato so close by. Don’t miss it!

Mercado Cucina is a must-visit gem located in Huntington Long Island, originally from Dyker Heights section of Brooklyn. They serve one of the best handmade sandwiches that are made with love and homemade ingredients. Upon trying their sandwich, I was blown away by its deliciousness and couldn't finish it despite my best efforts. Mercado Cucina prides itself on their attention to detail and quality, and it shows in their food. Their sandwiches are crafted with care, ensuring that each bite is packed with flavor. It's evident that they put a lot of effort and love into every dish they make. If you're looking for a satisfying and delicious meal, Mercado Cucina is the place to go. Their sandwiches are a must-try, and their commitment to quality will keep you coming back for more.

I’ll start by saying I hardly ever leave Google reviews. But in high curiosity, after my experience, I had to check the reviews of this place after going for the first time. Some things I read matched up to exactly what I experienced. The place felt almost 80 degrees inside and I walked in to a gentleman watching a soccer game and the place completely empty, which is understandable given there were zero customers. I can also understand that everyone can have a bad day whether with their business or personal life. It was unpleasant from the start when ordering 2 sandwiches. I was also weirded out because of how hot it was inside, and the cold cuts and cheese being outside of the refrigerated area just on the back counter in the hot aired establishment. He seemed completed bothered I was even there trying to spend money in the place?!? I was courteous when placing my order saying ā€œthank youā€, zero response. While he was making the sandwiches I decided to get 2 espresso drinks so when we met at the register with the sandwiches I ordered the drinks when he asked if I wanted anything else. He seemed annoyed again that he had to make them. I thanked him again when I paid, zero response in return. While he was making the drinks I noticed chips in the corner and decided to get two bags. I dared to ask while he was making the drinks if he can ring me up for them as well. He stopped making the drinks, again looking frustrated and walked over to the register and rang up the chips (I thanked him for the 3rd time during the interaction and again no response). When the drinks were done he just pointed at the counter as he started to walk towards the backside of the kitchen counter area. I grab the drinks as he’s walking back around the counter and thanked him a 4th time and also said ā€œhave a good dayā€ to only see his back to me with zero response. I was repeatedly being nice to him the entire time trying to make something out of this experience and nothing. On a side note, I am a very frequent goer of Robkes for years. I went to try the place because I saw that Lou plugged you, so I figured it must of been good and aligned with his friendly way of doing business, except my experience here couldn’t of been further from the complete opposite. I guess you can get back to your soccer game now, sorry I...

Stay away. I seen this place on a review somewhere, and decided to take a ride for lunch. As I entered the owner is behind the counter very unhappy to be there, or so it seems. He’s sweaty, sloppy, and unshaven. He asks what do you want to order as his bear hand wipes sweat off his forehead. He walks away and continues to wipe his sweaty face and beard, but I guess no biggie surely a place charging $20.00 dollars for sandwiches that considers themselves high end has high end procedures in place, and he will put gloves on. Little did I know he would make the same sandwich literally with the same hand that wiped his sweat off his face, and also later on scratched his nose while he made the food. Most of my horror came when he reached into the see thru fridge where he stored drenched peppers, and bare handed them with a side of covid, and sweat. I wouldn’t even bear hand wet ingredients in my own private home. What’s wrong with this guy?!?!?! Not only are you getting the most disgusting unhygienic sandwich, but the owner sincerely has an aggressive attitude to his customers, and really needs to see someone for help. You can’t run a business like this!!! This is a health departments dream come true. If he’s doing this right in front of customers 4 feet away, I cannot imagine what happens in the back kitchen or after he’s done in the bathroom. I videoed the horror of this so the owner can’t deny I will post soon. Just change your ways mister angry man, put some gloves on, don’t touch your face, and when the cutting knife falls on the floor wash it off before reuse which I videoed, and most of all put a smile on your face for the suckers paying you that kind of money for a hero. When the customer leaves you can be angry all you want but fake it until you make buddy! Also parking is a nightmare!!! This place is gross, dirty, and the owner is a complete unaware slob to run this type of business. I’d venture to say he’s completely even unaware of how he behaves hygienically, and within his own personality which makes...
