Biggest garden center I've seen on the island. It is split into 2 separate areas... perennials on east side of the street, annuals on the west. There are parking lots for both sides, but you can walk across easily as they have a crossing guard to assist. They provide large push carts to hold all your purchases. The perennial side also has a small zoo with chickens, rabbits, donkeys, peacocks & more. Both sides have garden accessories for purchase as well. The variety of flowers & plants to choose from is amazing. Been coming here for about 8 years now. Some items are pricier, but I've also found other items that they were cheaper on, so for me it was almost a wash & given the variety & volume, it is worth it to come here. The only downside is there are no people in the greenhouses that can help you if you have a question about a flower or plant. So it's mostly customers helping other customers with whatever knowledge they may have :) Otherwise you have to walk back up to the cashier area to ask a person there. They do have maps at the entrance of the annuals side that shows you what plants are in what greenhouses & this is an enormous help. The perennial side has a map on a board, but you need to come prepared with the scientific name of what you're looking for, not the common name, bc that is what is displayed on their maps. If you only have the common name, you will probably need to ask the cashier what the scientific name is. Lastly, the quality is superb. Everything always looks so healthy & vibrant. I've never had to...
Read moreI've been in three times the last few weeks, probably spent close to $700. today I had a coupon for $5 off of $75 (spent $187.78) on the perenial side alone, the woman first told me the coupon was not theirs, (downloaded it from the Local Flavor site), when I said it was a legit site and no doubt theirs she said, "oh I can't take digital coupons". You literally scan the same barcode on paper as you would digitally. I finally gave up and went to the other side to finish shopping. I told the woman on the annual side what happened but because I only spent $31 over there she said that she could not honor the coupon. It's not even the $5 it's the fact that I was made to feel like I was trying to scam them. I have my two receipts from that day and am looking for the others just to confirm how much I have actually spent w them over the last three weeks. Its a LOT of money to be made to feel the way she...
Read moreWithout a doubt, one of the best nurseries on Long Island, and I have shopped most of them. Huge inventory. Selections you won't find at other places. Nice ranges of colors/sizes within types of plants offered, particularly perennials. If you don't want your garden to be a cookie-cutter image of everyone else's, or even if you do, this is the place. Good value for the price. Healthy, robust plant stock that is well-maintained. Many of their inventories have a range of sizes/supplier options to fit your budget or needs. Also, don't just shop one side of the road, you'll have missed out on all that's on the other side. Truly a pleasure, and good staff. I have loved every transaction here. The only downside is the challenging parking due to being heavily patronized. A good problem for them to have, but not necessarily you. Still, worth the drive, even from...
