Wife bought a more expensive remote started on a certificate. At time of buying she set an appointment date the day she bought it. December 26th at 10am. Was told it would take 2hours 30minutes for install. We drop it off at 10am on the 26th and then they said it would take 3 to 4 hours. Confused we said okay we will drop it off anyways and got a ride down town. Call them at 1pm to check on the status and was told done by 2pm. Great. Get here at 2pm to see my car still parked at the exact same spot I parked it at 10am. I checked it. It is unlocked seat is the same as I left it and the wheel was the exact spot I left it... A little puzzled, I asked them if it's done they said it's still in the garage should only take 5 more minutes. I said well that is funny since my car is sitting right there pointing to it in the parking lot. They said ok well maybe they just didn't give the keys to the front yet. They dissappear and come back after 5 minutes. Going well it will be another half hour or so. As I see one if their guys running to my car to bring it into the garage. They tell me 2/3rds the work was already done... Which I know is a lie because it is subzero out and they wouldn't work outside like this. So I ask them why is it not completely done yet. They gave me a line that we sold a ton of certificates a lot of people are trying to get theirs done and I told them that is nice be we had an appointment before hand not day of. They kept saying sorry but we are not going to rush it And you know we sold a lot of those certificates so we have a lot of people waiting for theirs to get done and we are booked out to February. I said but we had our appointment made the day we bought the car starter. Guy says we already have it 2/3rds done just a little while longer acting like he is very frustraited with me and trying to fast talk me giving me 1 exuse after another and he increases the aggression in his tone of voice.. I don't like being lied to nor being made to feel like I am being threatened when I question why they are giving me different time frames. And now I am worried this is going to be a rushed comb job. A half hour goes by still no car I asked the guy in the front again and now I get threatened by the guy being told well I can go back to tell them to rip it out if you need to get going and dont want to give us time to install it and we can reschedule it then given the same line how they sold a lot of certificates. So apointments mean nothing!!! I just can't believe this place has been openned as long as they have giving people this kind of treatment. I am so far not satisfied with their customer service and if this starter isn't good. I will never buy or recommend anyone...
Read moreMy situation that led up to my positive experience with The Auto Specialist:
I buy new car from Carbone in Troy. They had their contracted auto guy in Troy install a remote car starter for me. I arrive home in Herk County and discover it doesn't work. Troy guy doesn't really help me much with troubleshooting, just tells me to bring it to him in Troy. I expressed my dismay to the Troy dealership, who makes arrangements for me to go to Auto Specialist in Kirkland since they're close to my work. Troy guy agrees to just pay Auto Specialist directly for the fix. Auto Specialist says the remote starter is defective. Troy guy tells them there's no way it's defective and is unwilling to concur with their assessment on how to rectify it. In short, after futile efforts with the Troy guy, The Auto Specialist surrendered their dealings with Troy guy and decided to just install a whole new remote starter in for me at their own cost just so that they can get me taken care of and hopefully acquire me as a future customer, not to mention the extra education and technical feedback that he shared with me over the phone and at the shop was above and beyond. The employee that I dealt with was Jordan, he's clearly conscientious about building good customer relationships and conducting good business. He had no responsibility to me at all to do anything for me out of his own pocket, I can't tell you how impressed and...
Read moreBy far worst mechanics i have ever dealt with. I brought them my truck 4 times to have a simple repair done in the front end and it went from bad to worse. The first time they blamed my alignment, which after doing chewed up my new tires, the second time they blamed my tires, even though the only reason they were bad was due to a bad alignment they did, they third time they reluctantly re-aligned my truck all while swearing they did it correctly the first time. The fourth time i brought them my truck it took 3 months to be repaired during which they swapped out two of my tires for junk ones and smashed my wiring controller on my dash for my plow lights. Instead of trying to find the actual problem they just threw parts at it and try to make me pay a bill for almost $3k for things that i both did not need and did not fix the issue. To compound the issue every time you go in they have a completely different staff making it impossible to get anything...
