Icon Fiber Arts — Local services in Town of Ledgeview

Visited while in the area. Woman at check out counter was very nice and there was a huge selection of yarn. I would have liked to buy locally dyed yarn but there were only a couple skeins available since they only dye yarn on commission. I think the biggest impact of my visit tho was overhearing the man providing what I assume was a knitting lesson to a woman in the shop. He was clearly getting very frustrated trying to teach her and it was uncomfortable to be around his snippy comments and rude remarks to her as I shopped. I would be extremely wary to recommend anyone take any sort of class or instruction from this shop if that is how customers attending...

I live 1200 miles away, but was searching for some needles online and Icon Fiber Arts’ webstore popped up with just what I needed and at a fair price. I placed my order but was rushing through checkout and realized afterwards that I’d bought the wrong size! I emailed Josh and he responded right away. We went back and forth a couple times while he helped me find the right substitute. He corrected my order and STILL managed to get it in the mail same-day! Great shop! Not counting big box stores, we don’t have any other options around here as Patti’s Yarn Shop closed when the owner passed away. They have a good selection of fibers and accessories. I mainly crochet and loom knit. I was hoping to catch Josh, but he was in a meeting both times I stopped in that day.

I will stop in again to get advice on sock yarns. I would love if there were groups that could meet here. I recently found a crochet group, but I know there are many more stitchers who would meet up if we had a good place to host groups.
