Was passing bord this early morning. And was very upset. My son was scared. And cried. And I was crying from all that stress. And even now I am all shaking from just a thought about today’s experience what we had today. We were going to USA to bring back USA car. My sister car. Because Canadian bord didn’t let us enter to Canada on USA car. My husband Canadian citizen and I am USA citizen. Ok we agreed and were going back to USA. And the USA officer on the bord was very mean. He was yelling on my husband. I said why are you yelling on my husband. ? He said : - It’s my job He was very mean and keep yelling on me. He was screaming you break the law. I asked how ? Canadian send us back to bring the car back to USA and that what we do now. And you yelling on us. He scared my 7 year old son. He started to cry. Because he was scared and didn’t know why officer screaming on us. He send my husband inside. Send car on check. I so upsets crying. I do not think it’s his job to scream on people. How he can work with people with his bad attitude. He must go and be trated by doctor and fix his nerves. First they have to be polite and nice. My son shock. Asking why this kind of people work on bord. With people. With no reason to be mean to people. Feel bad because this kind of people work in so important possiton. I just hope never ever meet him again on the bord. My advice to the bord officers. Learn how to be polite and nice. Your position do not let you scream and to be mean to people in any situation. My dream to see smile nice polite officer on the bord. And not to feel like...
Read moreWas in a limo that was supposed to take us to Niagara Falls, Ontario. Idiot driver followed GPS to the border. Told the driver not to go further, but he drove us to the booth. None of the people in the limo had any interest in crossing the border, which we advised the agent of. My understanding is that we should have been given the opportunity to turn around and withdraw from an attempt to cross the border. The agent was having none of that, saying that whether we intended to or not, we were in the States. None of us had passports as none of us had any interest in going to the US.
The border agents went though the limo and helped themselves to all our unopened alcohol, which was most of it as we'd just started our evening. No appraisment process was undertaken, we weren't given a receipt for any of the items taken. They just helped themselves. After a couple of hours of dealing with the passengers, including time harassing us, suggesting if we had anything else to forfeit that we should "give it up to Jesus", we were finally sent on our way. Yup. Give it up to Jesus. I assume Jesus is the guy they entrust to hold on to stolen booze until the end of their shift. So, we turned around back into Canada, which was our intention from the moment we realized the driver took us to the border, for a very shortened evening out in a very dry limo.
Hope you boys at the very least overindulged and suffered a hangover for...
Read moreAs someone who frequently crosses here (almost daily) please trust me when I tell you the hive mind mentality of some of the evening/night shift workers is absolutely insane. I crossed with my partner 50+ times with no issue until I was questioned by a man who asked about our religion and ethnicities and despite us both being canadian born he sent us in for further questioning. The manager working there at the time denied our entry for absolutely no reason and told us we need to 'convince' him as to why we should be allowed in but walked away from the conversation after 15 seconds allowing us no time at all to even speak. He was incredibly rude and also refused entry to 3 other groups for the same nonsensical reasons in our short time there. The employees there are also so very weird, they hype the manager up saying 'he knows everything' and 'he's been working here so long he practically wrote the laws'
????
Wrote the laws?? No the hell he did not otherwise he wouldn't be working there! That one experience soured this border crossing for me.
The many dozens of times I crossed before this I was met with such kind and sweet people. Even after this incident and being denied entry, I returned again a few days later and the people I spoke to were much more understanding and friendly.
We can't be expected to convince someone to let us into the country if we aren't even given a chance to speak for more...
