Chose A Touch of Gold for a basic ring resize based off all the incredible reviews. Unfortunately, I didn't receive the same service. When I first stopped in to drop off my ring the woman working the desk was on the phone and "helped" me while she was on the phone. Barely gave me a hello, just asked what I was in for. She handed me the ring sizers while I stood there trying to pick the best size. Once I selected the size I thought would be appropriate (my standard 7 that has always worked for me), I set it down on the table, she then handed me an envelope to fill out with my name and phone number and told me it would be ready the following week. When I came back the following week to pick up, the service was the same, nothing like the outstanding reviews that brought me in. She was with 2 other people and again "helped" me with the pick up and cash out process. She never asked how the ring felt or looked so I paid and left. Once I was home and had time to look over the ring I got to see just how poorly the resize/repair was. You can see exactly where they cut the ring to resize it, there was black gunk all over the ring that was transferred to my finger from wearing it out of the shop to home, the back of the ring band where they cut is now wonky and not flat like it once was. I am a standard size 7 ring, this is the largest size 7 ring I have ever tried on. I will not waste my time even trying to go back to this store to have them try and "rectify" the issues. The overall service from this shop and the people working inside was extremely poor and I am so disappointed. I guess there's a reason their last review was...
Read moreTim, Wendy and their wonderful daughter all run this shop. Tim is an amazing jewelry engineer and can fix anything you have. He has helped me so many times to revive watches that I purchased in Japan, to a Navy CPO initiation ring that I had made in Pennsylvania about 10 years ago. The ring was very soft from the silver and kept reshaping itself based upon whatever I held, steering wheel (etc), and the back of the ring became flat, and it became hard to wear, as my fingers got fatter since the last time I put it on... about 5 years ago. Tim not only added the extra material in it to make it fit my finger again, but he also polished and shaped it to look like it did the first day I opened the box it came in. Then, I asked Wendy for a nice watch and she showed me so many that were great, with great prices too. I picked one, because my brother in law was just promoted to manager of one of the most famous eating establishments in Beppu, Japan, and I wanted to congratulate him. It is so famous, it's always on Japanese TV and you have to get reservations months In advance during tourist season... anyways, photos below on the great items and craftsmanship... not to mention they are...
