Staff is extremely friendly, as well there is ample selection for everything from clothing to firearm stuff. This was my first trip here and I am specifically reviewing the firearms section of this store. I was looking specifically at scopes, when I walked up to the counter to start examining the counter I saw a decent selection, the brands they had on hand were not the ones I was looking for, but I was there purely to get an idea of the magnification that I would like. I wanted to look at a 1-8, 2.5-10, and 3-18. I ended up waiting about 10/15 minutes for someone to ask if I needed help/wanted to see anything while there was a group of gentlemen being helped and two other associates working. When the gentleman asked me this he started off with an attitude to begin with, I said in my head ok mabey he has had a long day and I let it slide for the time being, but it continued. He started showing me scopes. I constantly had to repeat the magnifications I was interested in and it got to a point that it was getting aggravating. About 15 minutes in he called another associate over to help, I repeated the magnifications I was interested in for the 6th time. He then started looking and told me that unfortunately they only had the 2.5x10 and no 1x8 or 3x18. What he said next really turned me off, he said a 3x18 is not a common magnification, and that 3x12 is. Just because you do not carry it does not mean that it is not common. One of the better stores out there. They tend to have most of the things you're looking for from a sporting goods store. Although I am not shopping there daily. I have been there enough times to know it's the place to go when I want such items. A long while back, I questioned a price on a certain brand name clothing item (jeans) that I purchased at Thruway. But I put my thoughts at ease when I arrived home and really looked at the item compared to similar items from the largest discount big box store (W.....t) . The material weight and quality were drastically better. As such, that item lasted way longer than the inferior discount price item elsewhere. I found that I saved money on quality over quantity constantly buying such items over and over. That put me on a path to the philosophy of its better to spend more for much better quality over spending less and it not lasting all that long. Used to love shopping here, but after a recent shopping trip, we've decided to go elsewhere. After spending $120+ on a cornhole set that literally cracked after playing for 10 minutes, we returned it the next day. The woman GUARANTEED us that we wouldn't have an issue with another set. So, going by her GUARANTEE that this brand is great, we swapped it out for another set.l, especially after noticing the box we originally purchased said DISPLAY on it. Brought the new one home and within 5 minutes, again the frame cracked. We looked up reviews and they said that it was a known issue. In hindsight, wish we had checked the reviews first. We brought it back again just to return it and the woman said we were told when we bought it that there would be no returns. LIAR!! Never once did they say we couldn't return it if it was defective. $120+ is a lot of money for a defective product. Shame on Thruway for not giving me my money back. Never again will...
