This is a beautiful modern new visitors welcome center at the foot of the thousand Islands bridge in Collins landing New York. This destination should be considered if you are anywhere in the area, as it has a little of something for everyone. The picnic areas offer both shade and sunny spots to enjoy and The visitor center has some interactive displays that are fun and informative. There is a small gift shop cafe coffee shop type place inside as well as small sitting area with free Wi-Fi. Outside they offer hookups for electrical vehicles in a small children's play area. I highly recommend a visit to the 1000 Island Bridge Welcome Center. We were suprised to find a number of very informative display in the visitor's center, but the magic of this place is the pedestrian sidewalk which accompanies twe lanes of traffic across the American span of the bridge. The views of the St. Lawrence River from the bridge are fantastic. Access to the pedestrian sidewalk is at the welcome center on the mainland side of the bridge. Round trip takes about 35 minutes, but that will depend on how long you spend enjoying the views...
