Rent-A-Center — Local services in Town of Potsdam

Holidays are comming up and as a previous long time customer I am saying DONT DO IT ,IT IS NOT WORTH IT!!! The last couch I got was about 30 dollars a week and they were ripping me off because business was slow and pocketing my money. They showed up the day before Christmas because of one missed payment last year. They kept deleting my payment history and restarting my contract without my knowledge and when I would call and ask how much I had already payed they would say "I don't know but if you figure it out let us know". I payed 6000 on a garbage couch that broke in the first week they refused to fix it, lied about fixing it refused to replace it. I got sick of they're attitude by the time it got down to 500 right before they could raise my bill and delet emy payment history for a 3rd time I told them to take it and saved up my money 3 weeks later got a couch from biglots that was 100000 percent better quality no issues only payed like 700 bc I waited for the deals. Don't go to rentacenter they are garbage. This was my final straw but not the only incident! They are rude scammers sometimes employees pocketing your money...they go into local businesses trash talking customers and name dropping. They are nice at first and get nasty when they Wanna pocket your money and want to make you feel like trash. DO...

Be careful doing any business with this place. I already had to make a complaint to the state attorney generals office, BBB, Consumer Bureau office, and to Rent-A-Center's corporate office. Because the employees that work at this Rent-A-Center in Potsdam NY, was just cought disclosing my information to another person without my consent. The employee kept harassing, then threatened to have me arrested, which is illegal for an employee to do to any person. It's the same reason why Rent-A-Center was sued in 2024 for $8.7 million for threatening another person in a different state...

I wish I could give less than 1 star. If you have weekly payments and you for any reason occasionally have to skip one and double up the following week, while communicating this to them, they will speak to you like trash, even if you've never been more than one week behind for the entire time you've been with them. I'll never purchase...
