“Blue Collar Billy” (William Mitchell) laid out a great track! Really good front 9 (old back 9) that includes a superb swing around the bay on holes 4,5&6. Hurricane Sandy began the clearing and the crew at Indian have continued to make that stretch really good! Poor Man’s Pebble par-3 5th and hole 6 are good, but, EXCELLENT from the tips. Old white tee now blue on 7, also plays better from there. If your a 15 or less, playing the back is so worth the 150 yards or so of difference. Hole 1 is still going to play 450 no matter what! Rest of the holes play about 2 strides different. Back 9 is less of a ride, 10 new split fairway, 11 take 2 extra clubs, 12 nice bunkering improvements, 13&14 make your birdies, par 5-15 new native fairway runout on left, green guarding left tree, and 2 tiered pin placements make that a fun hole. Rest of the way in is fairly pedestrian so make a few more scores!! Still sporting their name and mascot, Indian got into trouble way back when the Maintenace facility was on the water. Since moved, Cornell Cooperative has aided Indian to become probably the ONLY TRUE “organic” golf course. Those 10 years of changeover were tough, as the turf more resembled farm crops, but the fruits of that labor is...

Read moreThis is probably one of the best courses there are in Long Island. I have the privilege of playing on this course at least once a week. The view are amazing and there aren't as many mosquitoes as the other courses by the water. If you are a Suffolk County resident and can get a hold of a Green Key Card, then you'll be able to play for a lot cheaper (especially during Twilight hours). Take a lot of photos and enjoy playing. It...
