At Odain Collins , I don't know your experience but let me tell you something about this place. First of all it's a farm YES YOU HAVE TO WALK what the hell do you expect drive by and pick apples . That's the beauty of it. Walking taking in the scenery and picking apples and veggies , having a good time. It's only a ten min walk to the main veggies. Who in the world expect to be driven to the trees , come on. Also they don't really charge you and even if they did it's a dollar for the work they put in and I know I have lived in a farm before , they deserve it. When I went which was two months back I didn't get charged but I guess they looked at your un-appreciation. I went there with my family and we had two babies and had a great time picking all kinds of vegetables and fruits and ate while there as well. No one says anything to you about that and the owners are friendly. Yes you do have to pay for their baskets because they make it. But if you want you can bring your own and they don't mind at all , and I did, no one said anything, I fact when I went to pay the deducted the weight of the box so I only paid for what I had in there. The pay for the things you get is a very good price because they all have one price . If you get fruits or veggies it's all one low price of 1.25 or 1.75. I got one big box of things and it was only 40$ considering they are fresh and organic, I would say that's a steal. You can have picnic as well and a little farm park for kids it's great. The reason you go there is the joy of picking your own food and being fresh and grow . It's a great place and I would defiantly go there every month when it's the season to pick my own food. It's a shame some people don't appreciate the act of actually walking and picking your own food. They are used to getting everything where they stand. ANYHOW GO THERE YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED IF YOU KNOW THE PLEASURES OF WALKING THROUGH A FIELD AND JUST HAVING...
Read moreThe food and treats here are delicious and the play ground structures are great. However, this popular apple picking and pumpkin picking place charges an exorbitant amount of money while making no effort to manage their parking or assisting people with disabilities.
Every year they have a wagon ride that takes you out to the orchard. This year they donât have one and we didnât know until we were already there. We had 3 carloads of family members meet here only to find out that my mother, who has mobility issues, could not get out to the orchards because there was no wagon ride. When I asked the employees if they had a golf cart to help her, they said no they donât do that and that we should go get ourselves a wheelchair. There were two golf carts sitting right there but they wouldnât help my mother.
So we all decided to leave, only to find out that a whole row of people double parked to block in our whole row of cars. When we notified the lady inside, she was rude to us and annoyed with us. I really donât understand how we were the ones trapped and yet she was annoyed. A simple âIâm sorry about this,â is so hard to say? We had to wait an hour until the person blocking us in came to move their car.
Additionally, for the 10 people in our group to pick apples, it wouldâve cost us $170 ($65 per 4 people and/or $20 per person). How do they charge this much money, but wonât pay someone to be a parking lot attendant? Or have a golf cart on standby for anyone with a disability?
We finally ended up leaving and going to Lewinâs Farms, which was much more accessible for my Mom and all of our apples cost $40 altogether. We saved ourselves a ton of money and the employees were...
Read moreSo let me start off saying that Iâve gone to this far since my teen years (Iâm 32 years old now) and normally every experience is a good one here, until yesterday when I attended with my husband and child. My family and I were at the farm enjoying activities while there was a musician (I can barely call him that) who was singing 60s and 70s songs some of them being Beatles songs but also inappropriate adult war songs not suitable for families or children or the kind of atmosphere there. Then he proceeded to sing a very inappropriate political song as the majority of the demographic that attends there is Hispanic and Latin American. My husband and I are not even of that demographic and we found it highly insensitive and disrespectful. I brought it up to the manager who seemed rather aloof and didnât even apologized as I brought up my concerns and complaints about this musician. Her only response was âoh weâve had this issue with him before.â Okay so you proceed to hire him again and let him be disrespectful to the large demographic who attends your farm and pays your bills? Shameful and upsetting, wonât be attending anymore if he continues to...
