3/23 Update. This is our 7th visit I believe now. It was just my brother-in-law and myself. It was really chilly but they had the fire going so that was really nice.
The updated Maps we're definitely fun to play today. Will be coming back with our private group in a couple of weeks hopefully with 40 people with us. Paint shot really good today, which I definitely appreciate.
Patrick, ducky and the crew are always very friendly and helpful. There's definitely a collective focus on safety from the staff to all the players.
I highly suggest popping down here with a small group to play for your first time. It'll be very enjoyable and very fun for us seasoned old guys.
April 2021 Review
A whole lot to say about our visit.
It was opening day so things were bound to go a bit sideways.
Pros:
Kammi our ref - absolutely amazing! She was attentive to the group, very friendly but had no problem calling out safety items the instant someone's mask wasn't all the way down or an uncovered barrell. She was great and I highly recommend you request her if you are taking a group.
The different games fields were fun and challenging. Our group had seasoned vets and first time adults and teens so it was well balanced. Kammi started us out easy and then introduced respawns and play until you're out of paint which everyone loved.
The field paint quality was really good in my opinion. Very consistent and I wish I had a marker that could really sling it.
The whole staff was friendly and went above and beyond to ensure everyone was safe and having fun.
Cons:
The hiccups of opening day with any business, but the owner and his team took it in stride and powered through.
Ran out of air so they were transporting tanks back and forth. Also ran out of cases of paint but that too was resolved with a trip the their warehouse. These two items didn't affect our play or the amount of fun we had.
The rental markers were all over the place. Different models, broken detents, etc. Once again - opening day, but it's on the calendar - clean and check everything weeks in advance. We replaced a few tank o-rings ourselves from our parts kits to save time.
No chronographing of walk on players. The rentals were slow and hot and some walk on teens were definitely pushing 300 fps. That's a safety thing especially with rental masks/lenses and horrible experience for young teens playing for the first time.
I am very glad our group made it down and even with said hiccups we had a blast and will be back...
Read moreWe took our youngest son and his friends for his birthday and they had a good time. My husband and I had been there before ten years ago and we know that paintballs do sting if you don’t have enough layers on. I made sure that I let the parents know that getting shot with a paintball does hurt, that way they could make an informed decision whether or not to allow their child to attend. The one thing I didn’t read on their website and forgot to ask when I called was what the minimum age to participate was. I invited two of my son’s friends that are brothers, one was nine, he couldn’t go. I didn’t know that there was a minimum age until their mom contacted me.
When we arrived I asked the gentleman that was working in the trailer why it didn’t list the minimum age on their website. He did show me that closer to the bottom of the page it does say they allow all players 10-100. I read through the entire website and the waiver and I didn’t recall reading it.
One thing they don’t do is buy back unused paintballs. I thought that they did in the past, but I could be mistaken. Otherwise it was a good experience. Most of the kids were tired after three rounds of paintball. $20 per player isn’t a bad price to pay for entertainment and exercise. Don’t forget about purchasing the paintballs. Even though they don’t buy back the unused paintballs I suggest buying a box of 2,000 for $70 for a group of six. We went through a...
Read moreme and my 2 friends went to the forest of freaks last weekend for the first time. First of all its CASH ONLY but doesn't say it anywhere or even on the website so we had to get out of line and go get cash which made the wait another 40min. Then we paid 22.00 for the fast pass which was fast but a we got bottlnecked 3 separate times in a huge group going through the forest and ran into the people infront of us and the ppl behind us many times (we were not rushing at all!). They had like no line management and even the actors has no idea what was going on. Save your money for a better haunted house. This one isn't even as long as they claim. I almost asked for a refund but I doubt i would...
