I believe my Mom died from the neglect, abuse and incompetency she endured from the powers that be including her social Worker Joe and the Executive Director Jules. This place is infused with staff pickled in poor morale. The unsanitary conditions they allowed my Mom to live in I believe contributed to my Mom's consistent poor health. My Mom died of massive staph infections. My Mom was in unspeakable pain for months and HORENDOUS pain in her final weeks. Her social worker Joe and Executive Director Jules just minimized it and said there was nothing they could do. I begged them to help. Come to find out when they finally let her go to the hospital...what was going on was she had an aneurism that had broken open and was infected with a massive staph infection/MRSA. They just kept blowing her of for weeks and months . And it was too late for surgery by the time I finally insisted on diagnosis at the Emergency Room. She begged to go the emergency room many times and they discouraged that many times. She suffered many weeks and days. It would be a crime to let an animal suffer the way my Mom suffered. Her final week she decided she wanted to make me her health care proxy because she finally realized the one she had was not going to help her. I was her main care giver in her final year. Though my hands were consistently tied to direct her health care. The Executive Director delay this and said "I am not going to change that and have you turn this place upside down". My Mom died a "GRUESOM" death the following week. I am still tormented by the sounds of her tormenting cries for help. I pray to God you never have to put a loved on in the horrible institution. My Mom and other said it was a nice place when she first arrived and it was run by nuns. Also her I hold her social worker Joe and the Executive Director responsibly for her lack of care, unspeakable pain and suffering and ultimately her untimely death. The consistent display of incompetency was so alarming. And as another review speaks of the nurses sitting around while bells going off in patients rooms is absolutely what I consistently witnessed. Patents screaming in their rooms and staff just standing around looking confused and ignoring the requests for help from patience. And I witnessed the Executive Director sitting in his office on the phone frequently as well as the social worker Joe. So that inactive behavior was role modeled from the top down...Except I have to say the maintenance guy was...

Read moreMy father-in-law moved to Riverside over the summer and my mother-in-law in the fall. My only complaint is that they always seem to be short staffed and residents often have to wait longer than they should to be toileted, etc. But my experience has been that the staff they have are amazing. Every time I walk in I see nurses, aides and support staff smiling, joking around or hugging the residents and acting like they really care. They have tons of activities for them to get involved in if they are able and the entire staff encourages them to do so. They even go to their room and take them to the activities if they are unable to get there on their own. I have seen other people comment that nurses and aides stand around on their phones and ignore the residents. That has not been my experience. We often bring them food because they are so busy they sometimes don't get a chance to stop and eat. I highly recommend Riverside to anyone who needs either short term rehab, or a forever home. Now to just get the owners to hire more staff. That's the only reason I gave them a 4...
