The place is unique in a sense that it lifts you up from the overall depression of the Hudson Valley area in the winter time. We were here for the hiking mostly. What helps the most is their amazing cozy warm lounge area filled with a nice decor, spa area including jacuzzi, sauna, swimming pool. I especially loved a terrace that was adjacent to our room, it had a nice all around walking area and a great view. All and all I can highly recommend the hotel as long as you are prepared to deal with the depressing feel of the Hudson Valley, which by itself is highly overrated IMHO. P.S. Prices are on the high side for sure.

Serene family run SPA. A perfect place to disconnect and get a mental and physical detox. Food is great, plenty of opportunities for hiking around. Therapists are very good, so you can get a quality massage or facial. It is not a fancy place, it feels more like a country house, which was exactly what I needed to relax.

March 2015 - I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Copperhood. After researching several different spa retreats over the web, I chose Copperhood Retreat and Spa because of their comprehensive approach to nutrition, detox, indoor and outdoor exercise, relaxation and spa treatments. There is an emphasis on providing you with one-on-one consultation before and during your stay. I chose the 7-day retreat and focused on detoxifying and slimming down. I lost 10 pounds and still feel the benefits from the juicing program. I was experiencing a lot of joint pain prior to the program, but after detoxing my inflammation has calmed down and I have no joint pain. Note: please be sure to follow Elizabeth's prep work prior to attending Copperhood. My detox prep started 2 weeks prior to attending the spa and included a slow elimination of sugar, dairy, caffeine and alcohol. Not pleasant, but I was determined to make sure I followed the plan in order to reap full benefit. Elizabeth and Lech are very experienced and keep a close watch over you during the process and will alter your program based on how you are feeling. I enjoyed biking, snowshoeing (my first time), Aqua Aerobics and Yoga classes. The instructors are excellent. The grounds are gorgeous with the Catskill Mountains surrounding you. Great sunrise and sunsets. Brian was always available to help you with 'whatever'. He would even deliver your juice and broths to your room if you needed. I would recommend Copperhood Retreat and Spa to anyone. You will find that you miss the owners and the staff when you leave and will start planning...

I had the most amazing stay at Copperhood Retreat and Spa. I recently went with my mom to do a detox retreat and I can't wait to come again. The facility is big and beautiful and the location of the resort is breathtaking. I was a little hungry surviving off of only juices and broth, but all the juice were extremely fresh & delicious. I was also able to get a few massages from their talented masseuses and the yoga and workout classes were fantastic. Elizabeth and her husband are extremely knowledgable and welcoming, and their staff is accommodating and super nice!! Also they make incredible raw salads which at the end I was desperate for. Overall I would recommend this place for anyone that needs a little getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city, and wants to lose...
