On this visit I needed to acquire quite a few items. As such I grabbed a cart & began shopping. Due to the time stocking was occurring & the aisles where quite cluttered.
This is a common occurrence later in the evening & is to be expected if you visit the store later at night. The employees stocking where helpful. Offering to open a drink package for me so that I could get smaller sized packages. This was a nice gesture & I was happy for the offer though I did not need the assistance at the time as I was purchasing the whole package. Regardless the offer was polite & the employees in question always are.
Of note is that your experience here can vary greatly based on what employees you happen to interact with. Some are great! Others not so much but you get that anywhere.
Regardless the experience was ok. Had the store been properly stocked that would have been a plus. However; generally they are not always stocked. In particular there 20 oz Gatorade Frost order I'd never right. As they consistently are out of flavors.
For example my purchase of drinks tonight. I purchased all of 3 varieties. As I try to stick up when it's in as often the flavors I'm looking for ate out of stock. That is 1 of the reasons the store gets an ok; rather than a higher rating.
There lack of product diversity, relatively high prices & stocking issues make this store a backup rather than first choice in general.
Hopefully this overview proves to be helpful to other's who themselves are making...
Read moreI used to be an exclusively Walmart only shopper for groceries. However Walmart has been screwing me over a lot lately on every food that I buy and eat. So I go to tops and I think everything's double the cost but the surprise is that the shoppers club card gives me half off on most of the items I buy and then when I find yellow tag savings in the meat department the produce department the bakery and more I get even better savings. I literally just bought four New York strip steaks for $7.98!! Lady Godiva ice cream double decadent dark chocolate for $2.50!! And right now gas is about $3.75 to $3.79 depending on where you go. By using my club card savings and gathering up my points I got my gas for $2.99 a gallon!! I'm a believer now and I'm going back to the old grocery stores that I used to shop when I was younger because Walmart and the big box stores are screwing everyone over. Tops in Elmira on cedar Ave is a very nice store with...
Read moreI drive from PA to this store because of the savings offered on gas. Today, around 10:00 AM I bought $120 in groceries. When I went to the gas pump it was marked $2.99, and I was supposed to get 10 cents removed for scanning my Topps card. I scanned the card, the screen on the pump prompted me to ask for the discount. I hit the yes button several times, but it would not process the request. As my small business was to open soon, I just pumped the gas. The pump came up at $3.05! When I asked the woman how was working in the gas booth why the price did not match, she said "because I am changing it". I then asked if she thought she should honor the price marked on the pump she said "no, I just changed it inside". I suggested it might be a good idea to change the price marked on the pumps first and she said NO. I will be shopping closer to home from here on.
In addition, the "fresh" berries are always...
