Family Wok — Restaurant in Town of Southport

I'm fairly new to the area and was looking for a decent Chinese restaurant that delivered. Family Wok is pretty close to where I live, and when I saw how many good reviews they have, I decided to order from them and indulge a craving I've been having for a good Chinese meal.

This place did not disappoint! Being from Queens, I'm used to NYC quality Chinese food, and these folks could easily set up a place in NYC and do a brisk business.

Portions are generous, food was freshly prepared (even at the end of the night) and arrived fast and it was hot when it got here. Flavours for everything were delicious.

General tsos shrimp is awesome, wonton soup is great, steak and cheese rolls are amazing, fried dumplings are also really good. Boneless ribs are just wrong, crab Rangoon is an abomination, and the shrimp toast was unimpressive. Once you figure out their hits and misses they do make some amazingly delicious food.. like way better than the average place. I doubt they read these but incase they do- boneless ribs should be thin strips of meat not slices, crab Rangoon shouldn't be triangles you have to make the outer corners meet and overlap (also use better wonton wrappers), and I think the only correct way to make shrimp...

We use to eat here regularly, above a year ago the quality of food declined so we found somewhere else to get Chinese from. Our regular place is closed on Mondays, so we decided to give them another chance. Wish I hadn't, the food was mushy the rice was over cooked. Everything tasted like it had been sitting around for days or recooked from frozen. Not one person in my family ate their food, even there eggrolls we're old.
