Desantis Meat Market & Deli — Local services in Town of Trenton

New to the area and asked about local butchers, grocers, etc. Someone said "DeSantis!" So we stopped in.

We're boomer bears, and we remember what the local grocer/butcher shop was like back in the day. DeSantis Meat Market and Deli is keeping the spirit alive and well. We had the best sirloin steaks from them, plus they have an large grocery area including an excellent produce section (fresh whole pineapples!) and a very impressive stock of international products and ....

Well, it felt like we were kids again, because everything about this place is wonderfully nostalgic. Superb customer service, butchers who really know butchery.. plus a fully stocked deli for subs, etc.

We're going to be regulars...

Waited at the counter for 15 minutes to order a sub, directly after someone else ordered. The 2 guys were busy making subs so I was patiently waiting to place my order but my presence was continually not acknowledged (even though eye contact was made with all the deli workers) and when someone finally asked me if I was all set, I said no, I need to order a sub. to which the kid behind the counter said “oh you need to order a sub? Ok” and continued telling his obnoxiously loud story to his coworker. I waited another few minutes before finally leaving. Overall very unimpressed by the entire place, and the staff. I...

I actually went to the beverage center today. They have a very good selection and you can get a growler filled there. I have shopped the meat market many times. You can get excellent deals when you buy in bulk, and I've always been satisfied with the quality. Their deli is great too. They have a limited selection of other items, but I try to stick to what they do best, meat. They do carry a large selection of bread, and a small selection of baked goods like half moons and pusties. Forget BJ's, if you need a lot of meat to throw on the grill for your next big cookout, this is the...
