The Lifted Cup Cafe — Restaurant in Town of Trenton

Definitely an interesting place with a new spin on a “diner.” The food was good, the bacon was crispy and the eggs were cooked well so we’ll be trying it again. The service was odd though; you sit down and then they asked us if we knew how to order, then they handed us each a menu on a card and a sharpie and asked us to fill in what we wanted. I chose eggs, toast and home fries, and for the drink I chose the coffee bar. The waitress (I guess) stood there, walked us through our options and then took our cards to the kitchen. We then got up, got our own coffee and sat back down. When our food was ready, the waitress brought it to us. So…. It’s like self service, but with waitresses to do some of the job. I can’t even begin to explain how amazing this cafe is. A friend and I met at the cafe because it was halfway between us, and we were both leaving saying we wish it was in our town instead of a 2 hour drive away. The food was amazing, fresh ingredients, lots of variety of choices. Plus the turnaround time from ordering to our food being delivered was maybe 6 minutes!? I was amazed! The coffee bar (with free refills) had lots of syrup flavors and plenty of options for creamers. We ended up staying and hanging out in their fireplace lounge to chat (we hadn’t seen eachother in a year) and the lovely waitress ended up chatting with us and ironically we both were born and raised in the same small town!

This place was recommended by our Airbnb host at Evergreen Cabins. The minute we walked in and went to order, the owner Tim greeted us from behind the counter and asked where my husband and I were from. He told us to take a seat and someone would be over to explain how to order. His wife Melany came over and was warm and friendly. The food felt home cooked and was amazing. Tim came over during our meal to further chat. He didn’t just talk to us out-of-towners - he also seemed to know everyone in his dining room and genuinely asked about their lives and how they were doing. He is a retired Navy vet which we loved. You can’t beat the warm and friendly vibe here, from both the people and the food! Can’t wait to visit again....
