This place is different than a lot of other "haunted" attractions in the area, because it's real, and not artificially constructed! This was an actual prison, and is so creepy and frightening all on its own, even before you consider any of the actors. A sense of dread and uneasiness permeates the whole place, increasing as you make your way in and out of the buildings - to the point where it's almost palpable. Sometimes it's too quiet, and all you hear are your own breathing and echoing footsteps. The wretched screams and moans come without warning, as do the banging and heavy slamming sounds of unknown origin - you think that you might be prepared for them, but you never are. Some jump scares are super close, but there are times when you just see the shape of someone out of the corner of your eye, slipping around a corner. After a while, you can't help but wonder if they are all just actors, or if there is really something else dwelling there. There have been documented cases of suicides, deaths and disappearances, that have never been solved, so your mind starts to play tricks on you (at least that's what you hope it is!). Prison of Horrors Review 2024 This third year Haunt utilizes more of the creepy and decaying prison building and added in more jumpscares. You start your journey on the ground floor accompanied by a young paranormal investigator as your guide. He leads you through rooms inhabited by mentally unstable residents who seem on the verge of snapping at any moment. You continue upstairs where you will encounter more psychotic and demented people and creatures. You will also have to deal with clowns along a disorienting path to the top of the building and back down again. They utilize loud bangs and noises that echo down the deserted halls. This was hands down the best haunted house I’ve ever been too, so glad I found this place! The setting itself already gave a creepy eerie feeling as it is an abandoned prison. I really like how you’re all on your own and get all the jump scares. Most places are overly crowded , you hear people ahead of you screaming so you know what to expect and kind of ruins it for you but this place is different. It’s all about you and your group. For once I was actually terrified and had my heart beating out of my chest trying to catch my breathe. I did think in the beginning it wasn’t scary but boy was I wrong it got scarier and scarier by the minute. I Even left behind some of my friends lol !
