Apartments were nice. When I moved in I did a move in inspection where I noted several items that were broken or deficient. None of which were fixed although I made the proper formal written request. I had special concern over a difficult to operate sliding glass door. I am 6/2 230 lbs and it was difficult for me to operate so I was especially concerened that my 12 yr old daughter would have more difficulty especially in an emergency situation i.e. fire. This was never corrected in the 7 months I resided there. I informed mgmt that for the 7th month I would be going month to month and would be moving out at the end of the 7th month. I informed them verbally on three seperate occasions. The first of the month, the 5th of the month, and the ninth of the month when I confirmed that I would move and inquired as to what my return deposit would be at the end of the month. On the 25th I brought a moving truck to haul away my furniture and an apartment employee state that I did not give them written notice and it would be 20 days before I could move out. I was also told I would have to pay another full months rent. After further discussion I realized that there is a 20 day move out notice I was required to give in writing. Although I informed them verbally three times I was still legally bound to do it in writing and none of the three officeworks/manager bothered to provide the form to me to fill out. I went round and round with them for a week over it. At no time did the apartment manager take time to meet with me although she set an appointment to meet with me and did not show. In the end she left me a voicemanil stating that there is nothing they would do to rectify or meet in the middle. I never did get a chance to meet with her face to face and all dealing were via third person with her staff. I grew disgusted when I recieved a voicemail stating that her employees reported me threatening them and she would not stand for it. The last words I ahd with her employees were "don't stress over this situation, we just need to all sit down in the same room and iron it out. have a good evening" and I even told her to have a good evening twice. The next day I came in and turned in keys and all, did my closeout inspection which she said that my apartment looked clean enough to rent out right away (because I hired a professional cleaner). I was told I would lose 100 dollars for carpet cleaning service although the carpets were just as I found them because I spent more time away from the apartment than I did at the apartment. I laughed at this notion as the professional that cleaned my apartment said that she vacummed up a lot of pet hair. This took me by suprise because I never had a pet or had one visit so aparently it was left over from the last tenant. I vacuumed occasionally but the vacuum the professional had must have been more powerful to pick up the old pet hair, proving that they do no shampoo after every tenant as they may charge for. The two questionable emploeeys/manager are Sandy and Connie. Steer clear...
Read morePlease stay anywhere else but here. This has been our worst living experience by far. They try to raise the rent any moment they can. Staying in a 3 bedroom at Village Fair apartments is now $2k a month. We have been staying there years for now, they didn't up the rent last year because an employee was stabbed by a resident and a lot of families moved out because they felt unsafe. Apartments are filled with black mold, parking lot and grounds are not managed at all and are messy and you can never really get ahold of staff. It took me about 5 maintenance orders over a 2 month period just to have someone look at our broken sink.
Its really frustrating just trying to get by here and it's hard that these appartment complexes are all about the money. They don't even seem to fake caring about the residents. When the stabbing happened here we were all sent notices saying they had to warn us about it and added a rent reminder at the end of it.. Our neighbor illegaly has a camera and films residents and they won't do anything about it. Parking is bad. Cars get broken into, our car was broken into with a screwdriver jammed in it and the registration stolen. Staff knows people abandon their cars and that cars are constantly broken into and they don't seem to care. Feels like nobody works here but they still continue to charge $2k a month for black mold, messy grounds, and low staff support. I reccomend staying anywhere but here. Most places are more expensive right now but have way better places and customer service. This is just another appartment that just wants your money and isn't even willing to make...
Read moreThe lady at the front desk is amazing! We had a problem about a month ago with our dishwasher and informed her about it. A week later we got a brand new dishwasher. Someone put a tow sticker on my car for an expired tag so I went to the front desk and talked to them about it. She told me that is in the lease agreement that you must have renewed tags and she then showed me in our lease. The next day my wife and I got my tags renewed and we went and spoke with her and updated her. She apologized about the sticker but went on to say to make sure that the car stays in accordance with our lease agreement. At first I was upset but looking back on it they have a responsibility to keep the property looking nice. I’ve never had a problem here. When I got the sticker on my car the lady helped me quickly...
