6/9/19. Asked if they would call a vendor so I could make an offer. The answer was no, my offer would be too low. Okay, fair enough, until I asked again on another item with a different vendor. The answers for refusing to call were now, " not enough people working here, the places that call have 4 or 5 people working" Well, as it turns out, I go to many places and the only place I can think of that had 4 workers was the Tobacco Barn in Asheville, all other places have one with the occasional two. The place right up the road in Landrum, Savvy Scavenger, often has one and they call. I was actually told she couldn't call because "it's too difficult when there are 4 to 5 people in line" This was the third excuse. I have been to Country Antiques dozens of times and I've never been more than second in line with no others waiting behind me. I replied " no problem, it was the vendor losing the sale anyway" With all this being said, I bought something anyway as I have many times in the past. My point is not to the customers but to the vendors possibly losing sales. Oh well, I always find what I'm looking for eventually, just a...

1/11/25 - Business has new owner - I'm changing my review from a one star to a 5. New owners don't deserve the bad review. We'll go back now and see what's changed - we had loved it before the bad experience.

It is a nice shop with lots of great stuff but the lady working there was so rude. We had been antiquing all day in SC and stopped in because we had been there before and like the shop. We had over and hour before getting home and ask to use the restroom. First she said someone was in there and when ask again she said she would have to go get the key and was busy. I hate we had already made purchases - but fine - we'll never go back nor recommend. Oh, and one friend had a coffee cup and ask to put it in the trash - she refused to allow that - she said she has to take the trash home with her to dispose of - so.....where does that trash come from? ...

My sister and i stopped by this place. Oh my gosh it was like walking back in time. We found so many things that reminded us of our yester years It was fantastic. So many items. We had the best time in this place, looking at everything. The hostess was fun and nice. We would definately stop in again when we head back that way. We visited on 10-9-2015. Stop in if you get the chance. It was fantastic. Wish i had more money on me. Would of spent it all. ...
