This is my go to hospital for many years. The doctors are great along with most nurses and assistants who have common sense and people skills. I’ve never had an issue doing blood work, X-rays, CAT scans etc.. I’ve been coming here for over 40 years. I’ve watched great doctors come and go but most of my doctors are from here and others work out of HF/W Bloomfield. Now, the bad lol, One thing that can improve (the food per in patient room service). I know, I can’t help being a foodie for fine foods. I’m a great cook and love recreating unique dishes ordered and copied from upscale restaurants in my past travels throughout North America. The food is pretty tasteless here (but I’m sure it’s healthier) If you don’t have a salt problem please bring your own, (pepper too). Bring some onion seasoning or garlic because you will need it. My sodium is always around 31 (today it was 26) which is too low and therefore makes the food taste blah. The best food items I order: LUNCH/DINNER Turkey pita with tomato, lettuce, banana peppers and mayo. Greek Yogurt, Chili, Cream of Mushroom (but both soups need salt). Pudding or ice cream for dessert. Lasty, a fruit cup. That would be my lunch and dinner unless I usually have someone bring me takeout dinner in which I do. For BREAKFAST: Breakfast burrito,w/side of bacon, sausage and potatoes and more scrambled eggs, some salsa on the side. I dump all the above extra eggs, meats, and potatoes in the egg tortilla, add salsa, salt and pepper and roll up. I also get a Greek yogurt, fruit cup, bagel and cream cheese along with a hot tea and honey. Also good are the baked carrots mashed “potato with gravy (with garlic powder)”chicken quesadilla, black beans, rice however, I ordered hot sauce for the beans & rice and the salsa I had left from quesadillas went into the chili. đŸŒ¶ïž Keep in mind there are two different menus, one for swallowing problems and one with no restrictions, the darker copy. 2nd issue: I came through ER last week and spent the night. The nurse and assistants on brown team were courteous, and all had common sense with people skills. Wish I would’ve got their names. Anytime they came in the room at night they took their time to wake you while only using a night light. Real people skills and courteous! Fast forward to this week in which I had surgery and am on my 2nd night at 6 West, the day shift nurses were awesome, especially Olga, Angela and I think Kamyl was the name. Very courteous! As was Justin! Since I only got 2 hours sleep last night, I have been dragging today and fell asleep around 6:00. Then a nurse barged right in around 7 pm making lots of noise and turns on all the bright lights attempting to wake me up, calling my name and then asking if I want to brush my teeth or wash my face😖 REALLY?? She seen I was sleeping why would she wake me up to ask something so silly? I told her I was sleeping and washed up before bed and thanks for waking me.. her actions lacked common sense with no people skills! The other nurse (I’ll be nice and not mention name) came in and just had to turn on every bright light as well. She came in my room, turned on the bright lights, said her name was (private) and she’ll be right back. Then she left the door open and never came back until 10:30pm. I had a tough time getting out of bed with my walker to shut my door since it was so loud in the hall from shift change. Sounds like a party! Now I’m up cause once someone wakes me up like that I can’t sleep for several hours. I can see myself now getting run down and sick due to someone’s lack of common sense. Can’t wait to go home and sleep! This has never happened at Henry Ford W Bloomfield as I’ve been there overnight many times and had the option of going there for this surgery as well, why does it happen here? Better training? As I’m writing this at 2:30 am I can hear doors slamming and very load talking outside my door. They just don’t care about your comfort and I can’t wait to go home!!! Hopefully someone will read this and educate certain employees who lack common sense.

My most recent experience with Corewell was awful. In this review, I will focus on the supervisors and lead people. When the ambulance brought my dad into the hospital, I was surprised that the hospital did not have an on-staff neurosurgeon, especially since this is a trauma hospital. They said they could communicate "via telemedicine with a neurosurgeon." Genevieve E. Hinkley, PA showed a lack of competence and, most of all, empathy. Within a few hours of the event, she came and told me and my mom that we had two options: we either consent to pull the plug on my dad or they would take it "out of our hands and make the decision for us." Ironically, she was supposed to be the icebreaker for the doctor that followed. The doctor was much more understanding and thoughtful in the way he presented things. Lisa Leighton is the nurse manager, and according to her, no decision can be made without her. After we spoke to the doctor who agreed to keep my dad on for a few days, within hours, nurse Lisa Leighton came by and said the doctor shouldn't have said that and the hospital needs to turn over the beds (this paints people as disposable). YES, she actually said that. I tried to explain to her that the doctor had already agreed to a few days. She said NO and explained that if we didn't agree with what she was saying, she would make our visitation with my dad very uncomfortable. She also said she would be kicking people out of the waiting room. The waiting room was empty except for a few of my family members and one other family there for another patient, but 90% or so of the waiting room were empty. Also there were many empty hospital rooms on that floor, they had very few patients it seemed. Lisa Leighton made me feel like I was dealing with Tony Soprano and not a caring nurse manager. I was surprised by how much power this nurse manager has. Nurse Melanie : The main nurse that was supposed to take care of my dad, Melanie, was careless, incompetent, and lacked empathy. I am attaching a picture of her because I don’t know her last name and Melanie is a common last name and I don't want the hospital to confuse her for another person. Nurse Melanie wouldn't attend to my dad properly. At times, he would be in awkward physical situations where his head wasn't supported, and we would politely ask her to straighten him. She would say, "I will get to it," and hours would go by. When we reminded her, she would basically ignore us. In fact, she would wait for the night staff to do the work. Furthermore, she was very strict about how many people could be in the room, which I generally understand. However, there was a time when a doctor at the hospital who was also a family friend came to visit, and she came and said we had exceeded our allowed number of people in the room. This was a doctor at Corewell who had a five-minute break, so he decided to check on my dad and us, and she kicked him out. Additionally, she was constantly eavesdropping on our conversation. One time, the treating physician came in and was explaining that he is able to give my dad more time on the ventilator. This was great news to us because we wanted to see my dad improve and give my other family members time to visit him. BUT Nurse Melanie came and cut him off and said the manager nurse, Lisa Leighton, doesn't allow more time on the ventilator. In this situation and in other situations, the doctors seemed frightened by the nurses at this hospital. Generally speaking, it seems like the nurses are the decision-makers, not the doctors. Unlike the day staff, the night staff was generally good. However, my overall experience is this hospital does not care about its patients and it lacks qualified medical staff.

MRI Disk I went to Corewell hospital Troy for an MRI on a Saturday morning. I needed a copy on a disk to bring to my appointment with my Orthopedic. I understand I guess that I was unable to obtain a disk on Saturday. two gentleman did my MRI and both were very professional, helpful and made it very easy. The MRI did not show up in my chart until Monday Late. I called at 8:11 Tuesday morning to see if I would be able to pick up a disk later that afternoon as I live over an hour each way and was going to be near there Tuesday afternoon for another appointment. I was greeted by Talia whose first words to me were to yell at me and tell me in the future they will not be making disks and I better inform my Dr. Like I said I ask if I could possibly pick it up that afternoon to save a 2-3 hour trip. Talia yelled at me that NO i can’t I need an appointment and it was impossible to do on Tuesday it had to be the next day. So I needed to make an hour drive there , park in the structure walk over to main hospital to information where Talia brought the disk I tried to nicely explain what a inconvenience for the patient this was, she began yelling loudly at me that I was attacking her and that she only has one burner like that matters to me or is something I can fix for this rude , unhappy and deliberately hard to deal with women . So I got the disk walked back to car in parking garage and drove another one hour home entire trip taking 3 hours. When I got home I looked at the disk and it says right on disk that Talia burned it at 8:22 on Tuesday 7 minutes after I called. But remember it was not in any way possible to pick up anytime that day had to be the next day. This women is obviously not happy doing her job and has no desire to treat any patient with any kind of kindness or try in any way to accommodate them. I wonder if the hospital even knows an appointment is needed to simply pick up a MRI disk which for anyone who isn’t aware takes about 2 minutes to complete. Certainly will not go there for an MRI in the future in order to avoid having to talk to Talia She is a very poor representative of your hospital and certainly has no desire to deal with patients or try in anyway to make the use of your facility at all convenient or easier for a patient. Talia wants you to know that she is in charge and makes all the rules and she is doing you a favor by even making you a disk With her only “one burner”. Maybe someone in management could get Talia a second burner seems to be her excuse to make it difficult for patients. Then if she had a second burner she could stop complaining to patients about her lack of equipment like that matters to a patient nor can the patient solve her problems. I find it very unprofessional when employees anywhere spend time to complain about Their Job , employer , lack of equipment frankly I don’t care about any of those things and am not the person to complain to. I just want to obtain a copy of my MRI. Also if you work thankfully I don’t that offices hours are 8-3 and closed for lunch from 12-1 M-F

We gave birth to a child last year here. And a bog CPS call was made by an unknown person regarding me and my child. Directly after our first daughter was born I was asked to leave the premises and I was not allowed back. The investigation went all the way threw, I was then allowed back on the premises. I was 100% cleared. Was told there is no threat and I'm allowed to be around my kids. Went to all of my OBGY and appointments with my child only had one incideit was cleare it up and nothing came of my fiancé. E get pregnant again. We go through the procedures just like normal. Everything seemed fine. We're ready for delivery and then the moment they admet my fiancé into the hospital for the second time, the head Doctor. Ask me to leave the premises. I was no longor allowed to be there. I asked why she then said because you are flagged on our computer and are not allowed on my ground I asked. If it had anything to do with cps And if so, they have already done their investigation and my name has been cleared, she said. We have our own procedures to follow. So I'm going to ask you one more time to leave So I did respectfully with no incident. They they then move my fiathey to a room. Were they daver potocean before letting her know That this was a for sure thing that I would not be allowed back in because we were told she was going to try to get me back in. Which turned out to be a lie and they immediately induced where we then had no choice. But to have. Our little girl and I had to miss it and then at the end of itpaul when my fiancé asked for all the legitimate documentation for everything that happened. She was told. By nurses they can't give that tohen told by the doctors that there is a 2 week waiting period after requesting those documents. Then told my fiancé she is no longer allowed any male visitors per hospital security and it was only 0 down to our room. My father, her her grandfather. My brother's her brother. Her uncle, our family was refused and told not to come up. They were not allowed, how does something Like this happen To an Innocent person that has already been proven innocent. This is a very sad day for me. My second daughter in a row, the most important day of their lives have been ripped from me for no reason I pray. This does not happen to anyone else Upon release the hospital staff told us it was not policys they enforced so the can't give us the policy's we requested it was staff decision and we can't give you paper work on that and said sorry this hospital violated so many of our rights and then told my kids mother and her mom to remove there Rist bands off and my fiance and our new born baby and her mom got escorted out of the hospital like they did something wrong when we talked to an advocate from the hospital who is there to help us refused to give hippa forms to us and would not write anything down just stood there with the note book open to with we got no help from her she was more focused on telling us we can't have documentation with out request told her we did and keep getting told we can't do that and she said we'll even then you have to wait 3 weeks for it to be signed And there is no way i can get you the paper work on the red flags in your file for wayne or the male restrictions and my Fiance told her I'm not signing release papers with out them policy's because he did nothing wrong the next day we get release papers and told it was not policy's but a group decided it

I don't understand how I can work my self to the bone be the best father I can be and be cleared 💯 by cps And the hospital get to make a decision to take not one but both of our daughter births from me and force labor on charissa while she's alone then ban all male visitors to her, Show no legal documentation, giving them the right to do so. And then treating her, our child and her mother. As a problem and escort them out of the hospital. After making them cut their wristbands off before leaving the hospital room so they can no longer enter that hospital floor. And get...

My most recent experience with Corewell was awful. In this review, I will focus on the supervisors and lead people. When the ambulance brought my dad into the hospital, I was surprised that the hospital did not have an on-staff neurosurgeon, especially since this is a trauma hospital. They said they could communicate "via telemedicine with a neurosurgeon."

Genevieve E.

However, my overall experience is this hospital does not care about its patients and it lacks qualified...
