Tulsa Tech - Riverside Campus — Local services in Tulsa

This is a beautiful campus with all sorts of opportunities in varied areas of study. There are many excellent teachers and administrative staff is usually very helpful. Our family has had experience with the engineering program that used to be held on this campus, and is now moved to another location. The equipment was superior.

Watch out for the online courses, though. I'm writing this because I wish someone would have warned us. World History for high school (first time credit) was inordinantly long, the lecturer was inarticulate and often inane, and tests were difficult to score well due to a computer program's inability to understand the English language as opposed to identification of specific "key phrases. Hard to identify a "key phrase" in an hour of rambling. Stay away from this course, and be wary of others.

For all online courses, there are too many times work could not be continued due to the workers not being on campus to enable subject tests that are necessary before proceeding on to the next section. Additionally, the summer hours for online courses discontinued before August and didn't resume until after Labor Day, making it exactly the opposite of what we needed in scheduling. I would never have believed it necessary to spend more time in an online course than a regular school course.

The teachers helped as much as they could while they were there, but it's just not a good way to try to maximize your summer efficiency when you can't continue working on weekends, mornings, and...

This place was amazing! The building is very amazing and it has great instructors and this has the things that I am very interested in. The only bad exprience I had was when I was in the animation class. I was not prepared for it and even thought I was very interested in animation and such, I didn't realize that it was a lot of work due to my senior year at my High School. I didn't finish the course and I wasn't doing a good job with my assignments and didn't finish them on time before deadlines.

So I left because I wanted to finish my senior year at High School and I am planning on returning to this place to take a new class. ^^

The best times I had at this place was the first class I took which is Digital Media. We actually went out and took pictures at downtown Tulsa and the Arkansas River. It was so fun and the teacher was very nice and awesome! I didn't really make any friends there except for one. xDD The rest of the students I can't even remember. LOL

Overall, I had a great time when I was there and I am hoping to have another great time if I do return there. ^^...

One of the students in my class was threatened to be kicked out of the program when there two weeks left for the year only because of her makeup. When dragged to the office the excuse the counselors said was “you foundation is two shades too light and you can’t have your makeup like that if you’re not in a creative program.” It’s 2025. Wake up. Get better teachers and better counselors the only ppl here that have done anything is the front desk ladies every single day they can make me smile ask me about my life and how I’m doing.
