Sunshine Mills Inc — Local services in Tupelo

I've never had to jump through so many hoops for a drop and hook IN MY LIFE. This place makes International Paper look like a dream vacation. There's no signage anywhere, but after you finally complete your drop and hook you HAVE to go across the scale otherwise if you come back from Love's overweight they will give you a $250 fine. Nice to know! I had 41,1K lbs and I wasn't going to continue wasting time at this facility, but I sat on the scale. Then the girl who runs the scale house can't be bothered to get off her GD cell phone to handle business (both scaling in and out!!!) And all she says to me in a flippant way is "oh, you're okay." Then she sits down and screws around on her phone some more all the while ignoring me. I didn't get a piece of paper? What's the point of trying to fine anyone then when you can't back it up?

They all assume you've been there before. It took me over an HOUR to complete my drop and hook. Normally it takes 10 min tops unless I run into a problem with my trailer. This place has so many people who have no idea how to manage themselves and it transfers to the drivers who are left wasting...

Worst place ever. Get here at 5pm for 6:30pm appt. They put me in a door at 7:00pm waitl till 7:40 to tell me that my reefer trailer was wet and that they couldn't load me. Told me to go dry it and come back b4 9pm if i wanted to get loaded today.so i pulled out of dock climb inside trailer and took a towel and dry the 10 small drops of water on my chute. I went back inside told them "where you guys talking about the drops of water on the chute?" He said " yes and by the way you will not get detention do to trailer being wet. We only get 2hrs from appt to load you. And i will have to work you in. Lol .. i told him i could had dried that while in the dock.. a cup of ice has more moisture than what the chute had . i finally get in the door and they proceed to load me guess what i see when i go inside because they are taking so long. Yes! The order was getting put together... so basically all that bs so they wouldn't have to pay detention because load was not ready.... smh worst place ever. Stay away! I never leave reviews this is my first time thats how bad this place...

I have just checked in. And everyone is friendly.. first time here and they have been very kind.. Well to add this review. To everyone who post a bad review.. your reviews have heard.. and change has happen.. I read all the reviews yesterday. And called my load manager to get off the load.. but we was booked on the load. And had to come here anyway.. When I arrived early. Had to wait for the office to open. To get weighed in. Now at the door and getting loaded. Sometimes we as drivers.. think we not heard or yes we have a bad experience. Today it all changed from what I thought was going to be bad.. so don't be affarid to come here.. I have been driving for 20years..so I know a location is bad when I meet the people I have to encounter. They did turn over and trying to turn it around.. Way to go sunshine.. thankful to new supervisor and the team he has behind him...keep up the great work on making your company a place. We as drivers would like to return again.
