Last Chance Distilling — Local services in Twisp

The photos on google don't do justice to how great this space feels on a sunny day such as when I stopped in during their opening weekend. It's doing the rustic industrial thing but very open to the outdoors for lots of natural light and fresh air.

The owners are so passionate about this endeavor, and incredibly warm and welcoming. My daughter and I both had a non-alcoholic drink with the local (to the San Juan Islands) Girl Meets Dirt shrub and sparkling water, and went home with a bottle of shrub to make more at home. If you are with your family and thinking about stopping by, the space was definitely welcoming to kids.

A few days later I was served a gin and tonic with the Last Chance gin and Fever Tree tonic at a friends house. I admit it was my first of the season so I was primed to savor it, but holy cow. Dropped in to LCD for their opening day and had a great time. The space was lovely and nicely designed, with room to sit and enjoy the tasting experience.

The owners, Jeremy, Brie, and Tom, all were there to share stories, discuss how they developed their distilling process and recipe, which was really interesting and added to the tasting experience, and to answer any questions about the process.

We were able to taste both the Gunn Ranch Gin and the Buck Mt. Bourbon, and were really impressed. It's a rare gin that I would sip neat, but what a nice surprise at how smooth and layered the GR is. It's going to make great summer cocktails. Bourbon honestly isn't my thing, so no feedback there, but my friend really enjoyed her tasting.

Excellent Gin Distillery. Some Gins can be very floral and sprucy-not the Gunn Ranch Gin. Smooth, clean, and hints of cardamom. The owner-Bri (SP) was fantastic and explaining the distillery’s start, distilling techniques, and giving some local restaurant recommendations.

The whisky is fantastic-be sure to purchase a bottle to sample while reminiscing about your weekend in the Methow Valley.
