After spending a couple days in Kalispell we stopped in Twisp on our way to North Cascades National Park. After checking the local eateries on google we decided on 1908. This bar and bbq joint has a fun atmosphere and a chill vibe. We actually had to flag down a waitress because we sat at the window tables out of her view. Once we ordered we had to wait about 30 min for our sampler platter for 2 to arrive. I think we came in after a large group of rafters. 🤷🏼♀️ At first glance the platter looks a little skimpy on meats but once you start eating you realize just how filling it all is. The meat was pretty good. I liked the pulled pork the best. I’m not a huge bbq sauce fan so I think the meat was lacking in flavor because of that. Eventually I tried some sauce on it because of the flavor reason. I have to say, however, that the potato salad and coleslaw were the best I’ve ever had in a restaurant. They were delicious! The Mac n cheese was yummy too. And the pickles were crisp. Love! 😍 The Texas toast left a little to be desired. Oh well. I’m not a huge bbq fan I guess. Matt makes amazing ribs and steak so I guess I’m spoiled at home. ❤️ All in all it was a great dinner! I’m excited to try the jumbo rice crispy treat w/ brown butter and...
Read moreWas very disappointed with the food we received. The price does not reflect the quality of meats we received. We ordered the pit mast platter and 3 drinks and the total came out to over a 120. The brisket was the only half decent thing we had. Mostly due to the fact that it was full of fat and being prolly hot held for a while. The chicken we received was inedible, dry, under seasoned and over cooked. The ribs were about the same but the rub they used actually had some flavor. Everything else on the platter was nothing special but wasn’t nearly as disappointing as the meat we got. Drinks were fine, and our server was very nice to us. All in all I don’t think we’ll be returning. Sad cause there’s not a lot of places in the valley to get food...
Read moreIf I could give this place a ten out of 5, I'd be giving it an 11. Wow. I was so impressed with the portions and authentic bbq. The excellent brisket and potato salad I ordered was back at the table in like 2 minutes. My wife ordered the pork ribs and she was amazed. She graciously offered a few of the pieces of swine before i grabbed them without consent, because they looked, and smelled awesome, and I never eat pork. The bbq sauces were on the side, which is a must for me because I really can't have bbq sauce (unless crafted without sugar). Ultimately I was very full and very happy with this place, definitely...
