The Lady Patriots of UT Tyler played a great game defeating Midwestern State University in basketball tonight. Coach Alvidrez has built a fantastic team that really plays together. MSU put a solid team on the court as well. The venue is comfortable with great sight lines from every seat. The announcer spoke clearly in a very pleasant voice. The music was appropriate to the venue and thankfully the volume level was just right, especially compared to other college athletic venues where it assaults the fans' ears at a decibel level somewhere between the flight deck of an aircraft carrier and the impact zone of an artillery range. The pep band was the drumline from the marching band - Awesome! They were so good and played a wide variety of "street beats". The concessions were reasonably priced and they only accepted cash. This is so much better than any place that only takes plastic, denying younger patrons access to concessions as well as those of us who don't want to charge a hotdog and drink on a credit card. We look forward eagerly to our next Lady Patriots Basket...
