We went here to eat with a fairly large group (about 25) but we all had our own tables broken to about 4 or 5 people. They had one server work this section which was not very fair to her as it was obvious she could not keep up with it all and get everything done timely. But that is not her fault, she just needed help. The food was scattered and took a long time to get pieces out and the quality was just not there. Even in our order, my husband and I got fries as sides, mine were dark brown and burnt but very cold while his were normal and very hot (still had oil on them). I've never seen a restaurant take a chicken finger and cut it in half and bread it and fry it as a chicken finger but they were tiny. And finally, the worst part and what is extremely unacceptable in my mind is that each ticket had a credit card service charge of $1.65 on it. Now. I don't mind gratuity on a ticket. And I don't mind paying a charge when I make a small order that doesn't cover a small businesses credit card fee. HOWEVER. neither of these were the case. We were told it is a charge for anyone who doesn't pay cash. Now they do not tell you this upfront and it is not posted anywhere in the restaurant, I checked before I went outside, and I double checked the menu and website before leaving. I have NEVER seen this type of fee put on any order I have ever had over $5 and certainly never at a restaurant. And had we known there was a credit card fee we would have brought cash. Large restaurants that do a fair amount of credit card business should not need to charge a service fee on every ticket they send out, and I have never seen it done before, but if you absolutely have to the customer should at least be informed about any additional fees or stipulations BEFORE you hand them the bill, or at least post by the door that there is an extra charge if you do not pay cash. Overall I was very disappointed in the food quality and general service, but again that was not the servers fault alone, she just needed help. But I will not go back to a restaurant that charges fees without making their patrons aware of them beforehand.

Another place marked off the list!!! Today I had lunch with my wife and 2 of my boys at the Republic Icehouse. I’m not sure why I’ve never ate here before, but I’m sure glad I stopped in today. Aside from the cesar salad (lettuce was slightly wilted in places and browning) everything else we ordered was really good. I ordered the stuffed bacon wrapped jalapeños as an appetizer. They came out nice and hot. We all enjoyed those, seeing as they were gone 5 minutes after they were set on the table. They weren’t spicy at all for all my fellow wimps reading this. I got the parmesan chicken sandwich with fries. The chicken was tender and lightly breaded. It had a good amount of mozzarella and the marinara wasn’t too much at all. The sourdough bun was nicely toasted as well. I really enjoyed the fries and so did everyone else. They reminded me of a skinnier version of Jucy’s fries. One of my boys ordered a regular chicken sandwich, which happened to be absolutely massive and the other ordered a patty melt. Both of them really liked their food and had no complaints. My wife got the steak fingers. I even got to try them myself and I honestly thought they were great. They weren’t overly chewy by any means and the batter was just right. The gravy was also on point. THEY HAVE GOOD RANCH!!! In case anyone was wondering. Great service combined with a college like atmosphere made for a good overall dining experience for my family and I. I can definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for some good food. I know I’d like to try the pizza and the burger next time.

Atmosphere is clean and updated. Layout for seating feels crowded as you walk in and at the bar (it stood out that it doesn't flow well). There was a hostess stand but we had to go to the bar to get someone to find her to get us a table. Staff wasn't rude but didn't go out of their way to welcome us or to be polite. There was a band that night and they were great. Good venue to watch a band, not much area if you wanted to dance. Beer options were very minimal for all the good choices out there these days (exclusivly light lagers, with one local IPA) according to our wait staff (the hostess). We shared the chips and dip appetizer. The chips were fresh and crispy and the dips were very tasty. Happy with the food we had. So, I'm not completely sold on this being a regular option for a night out but worth us trying again for a 2nd opinion.

My husband, son, and I came in for dinner order and our teas and lemonade and our food. When we arrived, there was almost nobody there. It took about 40 mins to get our food and the entire time we were there our drinks where never refilled. I ordered a medium rare steak with the squash and garlic potatoes. The squash was great but the potatoes were ice cold as was the steak. Thinking it was just from sitting too long I went ahead and tried to eat it. I could barely even put a knife through it. It only took a couple of bites to realize that it wasn’t cold from sitting too long after cooking, it was ice cold because it had not even been fully cooked and was completely raw beyond the browned outside. After finally getting our servers attention and telling about my food, he showed absolutely zero concern about the situation. We didn’t have time to have it remade and I wasn’t asking for a refund or discount so his lack of concern was very off putting. When we asked for our check he noticed that I had not eaten the steak and said he would discount it from the bill, again I did not ask, he offered. This turned out to be of a slap in the face when we got our receipt and saw what he had actually done. He marked a 20% discount but applied it to a $0 amount, which came out to be a $0 discounted. He then added a variable discount that came out to just over $3, basically the tax for the entire check. My plate was $17 and 2/3 of the items on it were ice cold and the steak was not eatable. I would have been less agitated had he not even offered the discount but instead, he chose to insult us even more with a laughable discount. I watched the servers throughout our time there and they were completely unorganized. They were handing out plates to the wrong tables over and over again and even taking plates that had already been touched by one customer and giving it to the costumer who should have gotten it. At one point, I was offered a drink that belonged to another table. They had no idea whose food was whose when it was coming out. Again, I don’t want a refund or any kind of comp. I just want to let you know that your establishment has some serious issues, the biggest of which is serving raw meat to customers, followed secondly by very poor customer service. I won’t be returning but I hope you address these issues so that future guest don’t get...

Me, my sister and mother visited this place today got there just as they were opening. When we got there there was one server and one lady at the bar. The lady at the bar kinda put us off but then we were seated by he other lady. She told us she was the only one there and she was already busy with a couple other customers and asked us to be patient. I went to the bathroom to wash my hands and the first toilet in there was piled high stoped up with toiletpaper. At the table my sister and mother ordered the cheese bites. When they served us the were nothing but a greasy pile melted together. We picked at them and ate most of them. We were hungry since we had left early and had been on the road for the last hour and a half. We ordered chicken strips a cheese steak sandwich and some of their shrimp. When that food got to the table it was disgusting. The fries taste much like the cheese to have been fried in old grease that left a putred tast in your mouth.same with the chicken strips and the cheese steak was awful as well. Not willing to eat what we ordered I went to the bar to the woman who had served us the original lady at the bar and told her it tasted like old grease and we didn't want to eat or pay for it. She replied with a less than professional attitude that we had ate the cheese so I was going to pay for that. I said fine we did. I will pay for the cheese . She said to hold on I would have to talk to the server. I spoke to her and she told me that I would have to talk to the manager which was they lady at the bar that was being so rude. I went back to talk to her and she got on her cell phone and started working on drinks for other customers. Finally she said she would pay for our food and told me to give her my card. I was surprised by how she said it since she had not given me a receipt to see what she had actually decided to charge me for and I've never been told by anyone to " give me your card". I choose to pay with cash. And when she gave me back my change she threw it down on my hand in a way it went rolling across the bar and walked away. The whole place was disgusting and I felt bad for the one waitress and te so called manager was a total ASS! I imagine whoever Owens the place would be ashamed of the way things were handled and of the food they...

This place ruined my graduation party. Three weeks ago, my mother and I were deliberating on where to have my graduation party. We decided on Republic IceHouse. She made a reservation for 12. On the day we had reserved, we came in about 5 minutes before our reservation. The manager came over with a bad attitude and informed us he couldn't find our reservation. Eventually the hostess did find our reservation. Our waitress was an unhappy middle aged woman. She glumly took our drink order and eventually brought it all out. She was less than happy when we politely asked for more time to place our food order. We were expecting a few more people to show up and didn't want to order without them. In the meantime, we ordered a few appetizers. A few bowls of queso and chips, and some of the jalapeno poppers. The queso was bland, and got hard fast. The chips tasted like a mixture of an insane amount of salt and old nasty frying oil. Then we placed our food order. While we were waiting on our food, my last few friends showed up. We had to flag down the waitress after several minutes of waiting and beg her to serve the new guests. By this point, several people at the table had empty glasses. Mine had been empty for at least 5 minutes. My mother went to ask the manager if we could get refills. He then told her that she had a bad attitude, and had a bad attitude when she came in, and that she had one every time the server came to the table. He told her that was the reason she wasn't getting served. My mother is unfailingly polite, she understands from her years in customer service the value of being polite and kind to the people serving you. The server then brings out our food. Of a table of ten people only one person enjoyed their meal. My 82 year old grandfather did enjoy his philly cheesesteak, however, the next day he felt sick--food poisoning sick. I got the fried avocado with spanish rice, chips and salsa, and beans. The only thing on the plate worth eating was the fried avocado itself. The chips were, as before, nasty and salty. The salsa was bland and not spicy at all. The rice and beans were both disgusting. It was disappointing to look down the table at my party and see people not eating and looking disgusted. I'm never...
