I used to really like shopping here until I was just embarrassed by their Lead - Aide Diaz- this evening. I needed a few things real quick; was able to use the self check out. For some reason, while using my debit card, after placing my pin into the machine, it called for the teller. The teller didn't know what was going on, so she voided the order, and allowed me to pay a second time. This time, my card was declined for insufficient funds. I was asked to do this a third time, but this one asked me to see the teller again. The Lead was called over to take a look. She explained that this happens all the time, assured me that evrn though my bank was showing that the funds had left,, that within anywhere from 15 min to 24 hours my funds would be returned. In the meantime, I asked what was I supposed to do with the ice cream in the cart, etc. I was told I could either wait there till I received the funds back, or pay a second time. I felt very embarrassed in front of the other customers, and to boot, I wasn't offered an apology or a reason for why the machine did this; just that it happens ALL THE TIME! Thinking of this from the perspective of another customer with needs.. Now, what if I were a customer living pay check to pay check? What if I needed the food I was purchasing? Is this the way we do business at this establishment? This was totally irresponsible and very poorly handled. I will never shop at this establishment again until I receive an apology from their "Lead", and have an answer as to the corrective & preventative action being conducted to rectify this matter. If I should not receive these things it will only confirm in my mind that the customers that shop here are no longer important and I should definitely take my business over across town to...
Read moreWHY do they take away the shopping carts and hand baskets TWO hours before the store closes? I had to carry over 5 lbs. of flour, 5 lbs. of sugar, a dozen apples, eggs and a few other items. And then try not to let them slip out of my grasp as I waited in line. Does management think shoppers can't tell time and would also ignore the "Shoppers, the store will be closing in ten minutes, at this time we'd like to ask you to bring your items up to the front and one of our cashier's will assist you with check-out", etc.. announcement? And even if someone came up with a cartful two minutes before closing, the point of WinCo is to sell groceries, is it not? No, we don't want your money. It's like, go away, I have enough friends. I had a grocery list. Had carts been available, I would have purchased all the items on my list. And still have exited the store prior to closing. So tomorrow (instead of finishing planting my garden), I will be driving the one hour back to town to finish my shopping. . Elsewhere. Which is too bad. Love the bulk foods. But do not appreciate the no cart thing. At any time. I have a torn rotator cuff and I'm feeling it tonight, after lugging my groceries by hand. That is all. Thank you. I am not very eager to shop...
Read moreI went there because it was late and it's the only food store open after 10 pm, but after getting the items and then I went to the checkout, with a line of 12 different shoppers, all standing in one line, because there was one cashier, and the self check out wasn't being used, I asked a cashier if she could call for assistance, she said no she wouldn't, and that I would have to stand in line, behind 12 others, then not 30 seconds later, she opens a cashier line for one single person, whom she knew, and served her and not anyone else, so not only did she disregard me, but the others that were there waiting, so I have a question WinCo foods, what is the use of staying open late, if you don't care about your customers, who have to wait over 30 minutes to checkout, and sorry if you have ice cream in your cart, it will be thick sweet milk, by the time you get to the car, even if you have an ice chest in your car, it's going to melt before you get there. I don't think I will ever be shopping there,it's already kinda out of the way, but they don't know what they are doing, because I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels like I do. Get it...
