I am shocked at the decline of Harry and David and the Customer Service I ordered a gift set that included pears for my Brother and Sister In Law
Attached are photos of this gift to my big brother and sister. I am devastated that this ended up ON their counter LEAKING SMELLY LIQUID out of the box!
I held on the phone for close to an hour yesterday and the customer representative was less the polite-no feeling of empathy- no "I am sorry" He said the only thing could do was to send another one- Replace after this? I can't express the terrible smell this left in my brother's house and that they had to clean it up! Again- the agent was not in any way compassionate-
i asked for my money back and then because if the rudeness alsonsaid wanted another type of gift to be sent and then he got even ruder. I asked for Supervisor - which at first he said no- then laid out it would be a LONG time - I Said I will wait. Supervisor came on line- also blunt and short with me and not listening - interrupting right and left .... Well, not sure what transpired and how it happened - but he "says", he did a $20 refund and resent the SAME thing (again think of the smell my brother and sister have in their memory!!!) ? Idk I just wanted my $$ back and a totally different item sent (one that would not offend them) - This has been a nightmare- Who would want the pears resent when They had to clean up the stinking mess off their counter ? LOOK AT PICTURES!!! They obviously were sent past their prime and maybe already rotten!!! I am not happy with the solution or treatment I received- i can't see anywhere where a $refund was given - even partial- Why - when they sent such a bad product, could a different item not be sent? The product was offensive.

Read moreDon’t buy into the commercials. These guys do have baskets that look nice but they’re unreliable. What good is it to have nice looking items if you don’t deliver them? They’ll tell you an item is in stock and ready to ship and when your basket isn’t delivered on time (even though you’ve paid extra for exact day delivery) and you decide you contact customer service to ask the status of your order, they’ll then tell you that they have no record of your order - but of course they had no trouble accepting payment for it. After you provide them with everything but a blood sample, they may be able to find your order but then they’ll tell you that your order won’t be delivered on time because the item is not in stock. When you then point out that the item WAS listed as “in stock and ready to ship” they’ll apologize for the inconvenience and ask you how you would like to proceed…how about by receiving the item I paid for? Nope, the best they can do is cancel your order. And the intended recipient of your gift basket will get nothing. Save yourself the headache, there are plenty of other places to get gift baskets, just do a simple search using your favorite browser: gourmetgiftbaskets.com, oliveandcocoa.com, 1800baskets.com, gifttree.com, and pittmandavis.com seem like good options - much more reasonably priced too. I considered naming the two customer service agents I spoke with since they were not very helpful but I’d rather not throw the little guy under the bus. But whoever is in charge of inventory should make sure out of stock items aren’t listed as being in stock when we’re talking about time sensitive deliveries and if they screw up this bad someone in upper management should make sure something more than an empty...
Read moreUpdate: I did get my refund back to my CC for the wrong order. Then on Christmas Eve my sister did get her Peppermint bark delivered to her house with no extra charge to my credit card. I am updating my stars from a 1 to 2 as I still would not order from this company again.
Original Review: This was my first time ordering from them. I ordered 2 different gifts. I will say they both were received when promised.
Here is where it went wrong. My sister messaged me thanking me for the Cinninion Cakes. I was confused as what she might be taking about so she sent me a picture! Well it sure was not the Peppermint Bark tray I ordered. Now, even the Cinninion cakes looked nothing what was shown online.
So, I called last night on 12/20….. you guessed it over a 2 hour wait….with no one answering . So I tried the chat all night and no one would pick up. Do you know how frustrating that is?
When sending a gift basket or a surprise to someone you really do want what you picked out!! So now that is ruined. Plus it was $52 dollars for that basket.
I did chat this morning with customer service via computer and she wanted to send out the right item, but would not be arriving until 12/26! Forget as Christmas is over. I asked for a refund and she said she processed it! We’ll see because if I do not get it within that 10 days I am disputing the charges.
Now, the other basket that we gifted, who knows what they got because they thanked us but never mentioned what it was.
Bottom line, will never fall for your fancy catalog coming to my house again because I know the little regard you take in your company.
Funny enough we received a package from there today from family and the fruit...
