Around 6pm today on 3/1/24 I called the number and made a reservation. While I was on the phone the guy went to process my stay for the room but my card declined because it was locked. So he gives me the chance to unlock he waits to verify it goes threw this time which is did! They send my confirmation to my email. Fast forwarding I go to the store and purchased snacks and food for our stay 160 Worth! We were planning on staying two night's possibly more . I grab my daughter's friend's and we head out it's about a 20 min drive from me I go in hand him my ID and my card. He proceeded to tell me my room was cancelled! I said idk why because I didn't cancel it. He said your payment didn't go threw I said yes it did I got the confirmation number. He then tells me he doesn't care and my confirmation number doesn't matter and that I need to leave. I tell him I am not going anywhere until he makes it right because I had little girl's looking forward to swimming and I had confirmation my room was booked plus I just drove 20 min to get there plus purchased stuff for our stay. He then proceeded to threaten to call the police on me!! So I call the number back and the woman I spoke with tells me she sees the reservation on her side and that she was gonna call the hotel to see what was going on. I was on hold for 15 min. She gets back on the phone tells me the man who threatened me with the police told her I cancelled my room! I said ma'am I didn't cancel my room why would I go threw all of this just to cancel?? Then they lie by saying they tried calling me and emailing me. They didn't do either!! So pretty much took his side and wouldn't make it right at all by at least giving me a free stay or two? This man lied continuously about me and said thing's I never said. Sad part is I spent a lot of money there. Every year I stay and last year I spent at least 600 with them because I kept addimg on nights. I can't believe how I was treated and my confirmation meant nothing to them they booked the room after I confirmed it. I will never spend another dime at this location. And that man needs fired. Tall older man with grey hair wears glasses. When I asked for his name the woman told me it was against policy and she couldn't give it to me. So now I don't know his name to report his...
Read moreSummary: Very hard mattress is a dealbreaker. Won't be back unless the mattresses are updated. Otherwise, good stay and I appreciated the location of my room.
PROS: +Location: felt safe and was easy to find, exterior door card access, cameras, and maintained parking lot. No neighboring restaurants but a large variety are nearby. +Friendliness / Helpfulness: 3 staff I spoke with were welcoming, prompt, professional and made interactions easy. +Rooms mostly updated (large flat panel smartTV, USB ports on lamps). +Ammenities: hairdryer, coffeemaker, iron, waist-high fridge, microwave, pool, free breakfast, luggage cart available. +Treat in room upon check-in was a nice touch and a laptop tray was a smart addition. +Comfort: blackout curtains were not disturbed by AC unit. Heat light in bathroom. AC did NOT smell of mold. Mostly quiet aside from expected hallway noise. Privacy honored. +Cleanliness: Linens, bathroom areas and inside appliances clean.
CONS: -Comfort: Mattress was rock hard with creaky springs. Painful. Shower ran for 10 minutes to get water warm (not HOT). No extra blanket in room. -Room Odor: smell of cigarettes was overwhelming upon entering. No bathroom exhaust fan. Needs to be treated by washing all fabrics and a room ionizer. Would have changed rooms if I had asthma. -Maintenance: vinyl baseboard peeled away from wall, lamps rusty around switches, shower curtain had holes, vinyl flooring threshold to tile bent and cracking. Safe did not have code available nor easy instructions for use and tissue paper was used to keep it ajar. -Detailed Cleanliness: Desk surface and lamp bases grimy, floors were not swept thoroughly (perhaps vinyl creates static?).Grout for floor tile dirty and fried food crumbs on the armchair. No zipper enclosed mattress protector. -Tiny ants on fridge seal and handle. Front Desk was quick to address issue.
In regards to my dealbreaker, guests shouldn't be so exhausted they receive relief by finally passing out; guests should be so comfortable they fall asleep. A mattress should not be an...
Read moreQuick summary: clean, comfortable stay, but some minor issues that leave room for improvement.||We stayed one night in room 130 on a road trip. The basic room setup is like many in the BW chain (we often stay at BW properties:) 2 comfy, queen beds, lots of pillows. ||Many of the expected amenities: coffee maker (bring your own tea,) fridge, microwave, iron/board. Good work desk with ergo chair. Comfy sitting chair. Chest of drawers and a night table with good reading light and drawer (I love being able to get the odds and ends into a drawer, but have them easily at hand.)||The bathroom had a separate sink area in the entry way from the toilet and combo tub/shower room. I like that the vent fan does not automatically come on - you can use the toilet without the noise of the fan. Shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion provided.||Very good housekeeping.||HVAC and wifi work well.||Large screen for the flat-screen TV||Nice on-site pool, but we did not use it.||So why not 5 dots? A few minor but annoying issues:||The tub/shower had been modified so that the drain would not hold water for a bath. I love a bath at the end of a long day, so this was disappointing. But still - IMO, the hotel does want to spend the time or money right now for a proper shower renovation, and just wants to prevent taking a bath. The tub is still there, even if you want to take a shower, with no grab bar, either.||The TV system is very difficult to use. I have Apple TV and Youtube TV at home, and have stayed in enough hotels that I usually manage finding channels I want, etc. This TV system is not user-friendly. (Again, too bad - lots of channels)||Only one outlet on the nightstand to charge your digital devices -- in a 2-bed room.||The safe door flopped open, and would not stay shut. In the way when trying to use the closet area.||Convenient to restaurants and the highway.||So - the room itself was pretty comfortable, but I may look elsewhere if I don't see signs of some renovations if I'm in...
