DG Market — Local services in Upper Darby

I went in for a few things. I didn't get even half of them, as many of the shelves were empty, especially of in-demand items I intended to buy. What I did get took forever to check out, as there was a line at the only open cash register extending nearly to the back of the store. Clearly they were understaffed, but to have only one employee at the busiest time of the day is still unacceptable. Actually, I take that back. There were two employees working at the one open register, which makes no sense to me. On top of that, the store was a mess. I don't ask for much, but please don't make me have to wait forever to buy something AND go to more than one store. This is the first bad review I've given to a place since the 69th Street McDonald's back in 2015. I recommend avoiding this store and heading to the Dollar General on 69th Street, which was on point when I visited...

Now before everyone gets angry, I know it’s a dollar general and the employees are not too happy but to not have a cashier with the ability to void or do an exchange when on duty is just beyond horrible customer service.

My husband got the wrong dishwash and I went back with my husband the next day to exchange for the one I wanted. A middle aged cashier straight up tells me he can’t void or carry on with the exchange as his manager stepped out and he doesn’t know when the manager will return.

The stupidity in the process was beyond me. I had about $15 worth of household stuff in hand and we not only paid the $15 but also kept the $5.30 dishwasher. I know it’s a small amount to pay but I think we got tricked to spend $20.50 when all I needed was a dishwasher until my next trip to Walmart.

Dollar General located in Upper Darby PA is by far the worst establishment ever! It is managed by Sadistic Woman who terrorizes anyone that enters the store and does not abide by her outlandish rules. On more than 1 occasion my children have been threatened, cursed at or had the police called on them for trying to purchase items for me. Tonight was the latest incident where she called the Police on my children as they purchased over $50 in products for me as I am home with the Flu. I suggest everyone who is fed up with the treatment by this so called "General Manager" Boycott this store.
