It was my first time bowling with my three year old son. There were three young men taking payment, giving out shoes and handling lane distribution. I with there was an adult present to help with this. The younger men aren't that attentive and lack professionalism. In my opinion they move entirely too fast and don't quite listen. I asked three times what I needed to my toddler and the one guy just kept saying that he would put the bumpers up and then he would walk away. He finally put the bumpers up and after some people saw the struggle and frustration my son was having with trying to get the ball down the lane, they suggested the alligator. I asked the young man why he didn't mention it when I told him it was my first time and asked what they had for toddlers and he said he didn't hear me. Lastly, I paid $30 for me and my son, a large pizza, and a pitcher of juice Friday around 6:30 p.m I asked for another hour and they said it was $30. I told the guy that didn't make sense because I had just paid that for an hour, shoe rental, large pizza and drink. He said the rate increases every hour. I was frustrated and decided to go. I can't find anything about an increase in rate and looking at the website now, I think I was overcharged and quoted the wrong price for the additional hour. I also asked for a receipt and they couldn't provide one. The two stars is for the good pizza and the little bit of fun my son had after we got...
Read moreI went their with my family today and I wont ever be returning to this bowling alley. For starters they by their pizza from a pizza shop down the street and act as if they make it their self. My family and I bought some sushi inside and they came up and said we couldnt eat it inside.Which I understand and assumed was their policy, He said it very rude and as if he wanted us to just leave. I was very offended the way he said it. As soon as we put it away my Mom saw another group of people eating burger king and all the staff saw them and didnt say anything. Which made us upset because he already had a rude tone. Then my Girlfriend went to go help my niece bowl, but she didnt have on bowling shoes because she was going to the car, and another guy came over and told her she couldnt bowl without shoes. THEN a few mins later my sister noticed another group of people who were bowling and 3 of them didnt have shoes. We are african american and everyone else was white.. enough said. And no im not just "pulling the race card". My whole entire family felt it.
I didnt even buy a drink, didnt want to give them any more of my...
Read morePlayhouse Lanes is a quaint little bowling alley in Drexel Hill. It has a more old school style as in there is no giant arcade or large food menu. The main focus here is the bowling alley. They have a nice variety of balls for everyone and even have 6lb balls for children upon request. The only problem I had with the bowling is that the bumpers only have a yes or no option, meaning we had to have them on for everyone because our child needed them and they couldn’t turn them off for individual people. They have a “No outside food or drink” policy, but if you are hungry there’s a pizza shop across the street and if you order the food it will be delivered to the bowling alley for you. There is a small bar in the back area for drinks as well as a few vending machines. The reason I gave them 3 stars is because of the bumpers and because they did not have air conditioning so we got really hot especially with moving around while bowling. They have an industrial fan but it’s not doing enough. I wouldn’t have a problem returning in the fall/spring when it isn’t as hot outside for a nice...
