DO NOT PURCHASE A 1/2 HOUR OR 1 HOUR TOUR ON THEIR WEBSITE. YOU WILL BE OUT $200 DURING YOUR VACATION. I would NEVER use this company ever again. I booked a 1 hour unguided jet ski rental a week ago (before our vacation) after calling this business and being told I would be given a location and time for our rental after paying. So I went and paid $192, did not receive a location or time, received a notification to call the office to schedule a time. I call the office and am told they no longer offer that service, but to go to the jet ski rental behind Pineapple Willyâs and they will âhonor my purchaseâ. Then I later receive a TEXT to my cell phone telling me actually I have been issued a refund because they no longer offer the service. On Monday of our vacation, I had received no refund or evidence of a refund through PayPal. I text the number back asking for proof of a refund, no response. So I call Tuesday (today) and am told she will put a note on his (no idea who) desk to send me proof, but that it usually takes 5-7 business days to be refunded. Well we leave in 3 days, so Iâm just out $200 for our vacation. I also tell her that their website still states that they offer these 1/2 hour and 1 hour rentals and ALLOWS PEOPLE TO PAY and I get cut off saying that they will offer it again in September, just not right now. So I say that the website should reflect that, only to be cut off again saying she âthanks me for my inputâ. So youâre okay with just allowing people to pay and be out $200 for their vacation when you can write a simple sentence on your website stating you arenât offering that service until September? And instead of just saying âyes we do need to take that off until we offer that service againâ, you cut me off. SO SHADY. Either theyâre extremely lazy and donât want to bother with editing the website or theyâre trying to scam people who are trying to have fun on a vacation they work hard to pay for. Either way, horrible way to run a business.
Edit 8/12/2020: was told last week I would receive a call from the manager. Never did. Had to file a dispute with PayPal to get my refund. PayPal confirmed a refund had not been started on their end. Such a shady way to do business and every girl in the office we talked to was RUDE (Macey and Jennifer in particular). And so unprofessional to text someoneâs personal phone to tell them youâre going to refund them instead of calling like an adult. Everything about this business is awful. I called and made a reservation, the girl who did the reservation was very nice and professional! I received a text confirmation immediately that also had a link to pay for the excursion. I received a discount for paying online, and, it was really easy, they took PayPal.
We arrived at the scheduled time and the staff was very friendly and informative. They were running a few minutes behind but they assured us our tour would last the entire duration promised and gave us a discount card to use at the restaurant at the marina while we waited. They leave a time buffer at the end of the day for just such occurrences so everyone gets their full time in. They also warned us of the possibility of a further delay because of approaching storms which they were watching closely. The initial wait was exactly as promised and they had updated us to let us know the schedule had not changed during the short wait. We were going to make a go of it as the storm approached, but for safety reasons as well as common sense, they decided to wait and see exactly what was going to hit. Throughout the entire weather delay, they updated us every 5-10 minutes and made sure there was nothing we needed. We waited out what turned out to be a pretty substantial storm hoping to get out, but mother nature had other plans. At all times they gave us the option of waiting or rescheduling; we decided to wait since it was our last day in town, know all the while, it probably wasn't going to happen at no fault of Sunshine Water Sports.
When the storm hit and then grew and we all knew it wasn't going to happen, they offered to reschedule but we had to decline as we were leaving the next morning. At that time, they immediately, without hesitation and without me even having to ask, confirmed my email address and sent a refund through PayPal that moment.
As stated, they were so friendly, professional, and informative throughout! I am confident we would have had an incredible time had mother nature not interfered. It's one thing to see how a company does business when everything goes as planned, it speaks volumes to me how they dealt with us when the weather had other plans.
We will definitely be back and use them on our next trip! I really can't express enough how impressed I was with how they handled everything despite a little...
   Read moreWe unfortunately didnt get Jason as our tour guide, we got Braden, who, while was seemingly very knowledgable about jet ski saftey and procedures, was not a great guide...We followed him through choppy waters for 30 minutes (with my 6 yr old riding in front of me) to Shell Island. The description of the tour said that our guide would take us diving for sand dollars, however, after we got there all he told us was that we had 40 minutes to check out the island and recommended that we take the path to the gulf side of the island. The beach was beautiful there, but the water was so rough that it knocked off my daughters snorkel gear and we never got it back, we tried to make the best of it, but it was awful. By the time we got back around to the jet skis, I mentioned the sand dollars and all he did was take off and go get them himself (which I intended to get my own). As soon as he got back with them he said it was time to go, we really didnt get much time to enjoy the calmer side of the island at all, it couldn't have been a full 40 minutes before he was saying we had to leave. He proceeded to speed ahead of us, where I lost the entire crew twice, then when I finally caught up with them by the jettis he was waiving us off like it was time to go. We didnt see one single dolphin...This was money and time wasted, we could have rented a jet ski for the day and did all this ourselves...And to the owner, I did have a reservation...Jason had hurt his back and couldnt go...
