In my best opinion it’s worth the price, though the hayride could use a bit more work, but the house and cornfield make up for it ten fold.
First, the hayride. The hayride was more of a relaxing ride then a fright, not that there was anything scary in it at all but there where quite a few dull moments, also you don’t feel as threatened by the actors, as only few of them actually get on it, but some of of the stuff on it are pretty creative and haven’t see before, like the use of a truck chasing you down, so I still think it’s worth the ride even if it seems relaxing at times.
Second, the haunted house. I gotta say it’s one of the best I have ever been in, the effects and level of detail and guest interaction, you can tell how much work and love they put into it. The house it’s self is very convincing, you really feel like your going though a old rundown house, and the smoke and mirror effects and tricks of the eye, the use it to it’s fullest and do it well. I was blown away with all the effects, had be giddy through and through. A must see attraction.
Third, the cornfield, very well done walk through of a corn field, though it had its little empty walking space through the corn, you’ll hit houses and buildings along the way with really good scares, but then you go through long patches of corn with out any really fear of scarers hiding in the corn, but it kinda gives a sort of suspense of what is next to come, but maybe having one or two people in the corn in the longer paths just to fill the void a bit would help, but other then that was very well done, never found that woman’s husband though, maybe next time!
To wrap this up and give it a TLDR, it’s worth the money, the hayride isn’t too exciting, the haunted house was fan-freaking-tastic, and they corn field was really fun to walk through and had a...
Read moreWent here once before. Let me start by saying, the house is absolutely incredible. The level of detail is impressive. You will encounter optical illusions, great set pieces, invested actors and a great ambience. I wish it went longer. The field left a BIT to be desired. It was very well done, but too many times where we were walking through the field with little happening. My main criticism (and ultimately a compliment) is that it could be 5-10 minutes longer.
I’ve read several criticisms of the hayride. First off, it is truly difficult to execute a harrowing hayride experience. I have been to field of terror’s hayride in NJ and while it’s a must go to each season for their other attractions, the hayride at Sleepy Hollow is immensely more engaging and well thought out and put together. There were a few areas that needed more scares, however, I generally just enjoy the ambience of being in a cornfield during Halloween season. Improvements could be made, but I overall enjoyed myself.
One thing I must say, there was a live band singing and it completely (at times) took me out of the experience. I don’t want to be getting scared in a cornfield and hearing a subpar coverband singing the Killers and Kings of Leon. There are snacks and various concessions which are typical at haunts, but it did interfere with our experience during the field attraction in particular. People go to a bar to hear a cover band, not a haunt that’s open one month of the year.
We drove about an hour, but it was absolutely worth it. We will continue to visit this haunt every season and need to commend the staff for always giving their all. The staff who work the lines, scan your tickets, and operationally run the haunt are top notch and so nice. If you are in the NJ/PA area, this is a...
Read moreBeen going here for around ten years with a group of about 20 people, aways been a great time till this year. Showed up 530, no one at ticket booth, as usual, set up our stuff, and started hanging out. Took a bunch of kids to see animals, and some guy at gate would not let us back in cause we had no tickets, after a bunch of bs, bought tickets for everyone, and was allowed back in. After a bit, same guy at gate came over and started going through our coolers, saying no alcholic beverages allowed, since when, more bs, took all our stuff out to the car, where I noticed the huge amount of people being searched, and being sent back to their car with booze, guess they missed the memo also. Used to be such a good time, last year here, will look for a different place next year. Good luck with anti...
