Hello, I purchased a VW convertible for my wife from VW of Salem County and January of 2012. First the good, the price was fair and it was easy to negotiate with them. The bad, when we purchased the car there were items on the "we owe" list, this included a new top of a different color and removal of a satellite radio. To make a long story short, the car was promised on 3 different days for delivery, each day I had cleared time from my schedule and work and each time after I already left work I received a call it was not ready. When they FINALLY did deliver the car it was dirty, chipped windshield, the radio that was to be removed was still in it. My mistake was NOT driving the 1.5 hours to get the car even after all their errors, this is because they offered to deliver it to me. When I asked about the windshield, the dirty car and the radio work I was give poor answers. I am about 15 minutes from Thompson VW/AAudi in Doylestown Pa, I had to take it to them for state inspection so I asked VWSC to have Thompson do the work. They refused. I was given an opportunity to write to VW corporate and explained the problems, VW corp agreed with me on the situation but said they are only in an advisory position and are not able to compel them to take action though it has been noted in there record. I have bought 20+ cars personally, this is by far the worst. VW corp asked if I had received a "vehicle condition report" I told them I had not, A month later, I received a back dated report with my name on it but with a date weeks before I ever came to the dealer. The faked the paperwork to cover themselves. I have to put in a new windshield at $400, had to get the car detailed as they never cleaned it, pay for the inspection and have the radio removed. There is more to the story but doubt many will read this much of the rant. The up side is that it was a good deal, not sure they even made any money on it (not my problem ,they are big boys). I would have walked away except that I knew I would be taking the VW to Thompson VW/Audi in Doylestoen/Warminster PA, I have and still own Audi and love their servive, hard to believe but BETTER then when it was Holberts and I loved there service as well! MY suggestion, buy the car on price, don't expect any more as far as service or follow up, they are poor...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI'm a disabled veteran living on a single disability with my wife in Texas. When my wife's Golf got totaled in a hit and run "accident" I spent several frustrating weeks searching online all around the country * (our youngest daughter is a flight attendant so travel was not gonna be a problem) to get the best value for a long term, economical, dependable, and fun car for my wife and I to drive. The filters I used to find the "best" car and best value brought us ultimately to Tara and Salem County Volkswagen in NJ. From the first time we spoke until I safely got back home (and afterwards) with our "new" car it literally felt like I was dealing with members of my family there at Salem County VW. Every single interaction* with the whole team there Tara, Joe, Mike, Kevin, et al was just way far and above what was expected of a "normal used car dealership" that I literally don't have space to put all of their MUCH APPRECIATED courtesies and favors down in this review. (* With the one single exception of some guy "derek" - he was unpleasant to deal with.) For just one example, long after the negotiations were done and over with, a mechanic discovered the grille was cracked. It wasn't anything critical to the running of the car so I didn't even bother looking at it when I picked the car up in NJ. But when I got back to Texas and was gonna get a replacement at a local junk yard my wife told me it wasn't broken. She wondered why I was gonna replace it. Only then did I realize that as yet ANOTHER courtesy they had replaced that grille at their own expense and didn't even bother telling me!
I would HIGHLY recommend to anyone that I know and care about, that is shopping for a Volkswagen, to give their first attention to Salem County Volkswagen! They are the most refreshingly fair, honest, accommodating group of people to work with in the process of purchasing a "new" car for my family that I have EVER run across in my life! If you are lucky enough to get Tara to work with you then you'll be impressed and happy with her "extra mile" level of great customer service just...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI donāt even know where to begin... As a woman, I have always been told that dealerships would take advantage of me. During this search for a new car, that has been extremely true everywhere I went with the exception of Volkswagen of Salem County. I worked with Eric and Joe and their transparency with me was astounding. I did a ton of research to prepare myself and honestly, I probably didnāt even need to waste my time doing that. There was no BSing with them. The numbers on the vehicles were great from the beginning and both of them really worked with me to help find a deal and car that I loved. Joe went above and beyond with explaining my questions about financing, finding out information on different rates and comparative numbers between different down payments and their corresponding interest rates. I went in for a Jetta GLI and given my financial situation, it just was not feasible at this time despite all of their hard work finding numbers on that specific car. I came back a few days later after weighing some different options and even looking elsewhere for another car (with some not so great experiences at those other places). Again, Eric and Joe worked with me on numbers, talked to my snarky and demanding car obsessed boyfriend on the phone and we were able to come to a deal that worked for me and my financial situation. Tara also helped me feel more comfortable by explaining she went through the same situation as me with credit and the steps she has taken, it really gave me hope! I couldnāt be happier with this experience and know I couldnāt have been in better hands. They all made a potentially stressful and scary situation much better by being honest from the start. I have friends who have bought cars from this dealership despite living over 2 hours away and I see why. I will never buy a car elsewhere, Eric and Joe have made a customer for life. Iāve never been so happy to spend thousands of dollars and feel as though that purchase was actually worth it. Thank you guys for everything, Iām loving my...
